I can't find a Switch anywhere to buy. I really REALLY want to play Animal Crossing, everyone is calling it the game of the year. Is it really that good?

It is the best game ever made user. Probably the technological peak of humanity, a true marvel of ingenuity and progress on par with the moon landings. Anyone that has not played it yet is generally frowned upon as a Luddite and shunned from society.

There's a lot of small annoyances that really add up and dampen the experience, but it's still a fine game to play overall. It has great sound design and I spend a lot of time lazily walking around the island because of it.

Try Amazon. I found four on there last week for between $250 and $320. I've since sold them for $450 a piece.

It's not good. The writing is dull and shallow, it desperately needs QoL in several areas, and there's really nothing to do.
If you want a slow social sim just play Harvest Moon or Rune Factory or something.

The thing that bugs me the most is the inconsistency found throughout the game. It was very obvious certain things were worked on by different teams without communicating

It's really fun. My only complain it's online part. This fucking Do-do dialog and cutscenes that stops everyone when player arrives or leaves. I hate this shit.
