True, but for once, any form of 2D Metroid makes sense with Sakamoto being mostly MIA since Samus Returns (other than remaking a Japan only Visual Novel for the Switch... but how much effort can that take?).

Hey, Pikmin 4 has been making sense for 2 years now. At the very least a Pikmin 3 port, since it's like one of the last 4 games to port from the Wii U.

But this is not a 3D metroid.

Pikmin 4 most likely had the exact same problem Pikmin 3 did, where it was almost completed for one console before having development almost completely restarted and moved to the next console.

Metroid is the last Nintendo franchise I give a shit about and my switch is collecting dust.
They don't have to reinvent the wheel on it just give me atmosphere and a backtracking metroidvania that doesn't take me on rails at any point.

Fusion and Zero Mission are more "on rails" than Samus Returns.

I hate to be the one to bring this game up, but still, Sakamoto give himself a free "Get Ridley out of hell" Card with Other M. As long as there is single sample of his DNA out there (and we have infinite plot reasons to keep one, from the Pirates to the Federation to even the Rogue Chozo now), any Clone of him "should" be Ridley as we know him.

Ridley is deader than dead, in Fusion we just fought a shitty clone.

And in Prime 3, Prime one also made a number out of him. We also kill his bootleg robot in Zero Mission. Technically he dies for good in Super, but then he got a Clone with genetic Memory who got eaten by a Metroid. Hard to tell if that clone was still "himself" when it fuse with the X, or just the X playing to be Ridley.

Where should prime 4 take place on the timeline? Between Metroid 1 and 2 like the original trilogy? Or should it be after Fusion?
Also they gotta get rid of the Other M varia suit, shit sucks.

I am afraid if may "need" to keep it's place before Metroid 2 still. Other wise it's an absurd amount of time of Sylux chasing Samus in secret, and doing who knows what with the Baby Metroid. Besides, the Federation should know that Sylux took the Metroid, so for Metroid 2 to make sense on it's "lets kill all the Metroids" Mission, in theory someone should take care of that first.
