My only real criticism is that the map and travel system are pretty clunky and lacking.

Just beat it too. They did a great job with the story. The combat got repetitive at times,. I thought I was going to hate the kid, but overall I liked him.

It was fun, but I was a little curious as to why everyone seemed to think it was a 10/10. The story was over waaay sooner than I thought it would be. Not a huge gripe, but it was a bit of a let down, kind of like Halo 2. And the combat got really repetitive by the end. I'd say it was a solid 8/10.

Combat, story, atmosphere and graphics were fantastic. I actually enjoyed the hybrid linear/open world map, it doesn't feel restrictive while at the same time allows for intricate levels with a lot of depth. My biggest issue with the game is the criminally low amount of bosses; only 4 unique boss fights if you count the Valkyries as one and the two Baldr fights as one (he has the same moves)

>asking Zig Forums their opinion on anything
It wasn't a hentai dating sim, kratos is a faggot and can't fight, not realistic, bad grafix and pacing, 3/10.

Epic, simply epic

A majority of these faggots haven't touched it. They parrot buzzwords and have no real criticism of the game. Playing it from beginning to end and having played the other previous 7 entries it had strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully 5 can improve on it since 4 was blatant sequel bait.

I dropped it at what I guess was two thirds of the main story.
Not a bad game, but I don't know, I got bored with the combat after a while and just watched the rest of the story on youtube.

And there's only what, 5 enemy types and you fight the same troll boss with different colors all the time.

Fine game but the camera choice is fucking terrible for an action game. It's too close and instead of reading enemy actions to react at the right moments a fucking red marker lets you know when enemies are going to attack. It makes the game too easy but without it, the camera being so close would make it plain unfair. Other things it could stand is a better variety of enemies instead of seeing the same ones over and over.

The game has it's charm but it comes off more as another "sony checklist" kind of game than God of War. The story is pretty nice however and both Kratos and Atreus have a nice dynamic that made me want to hear them talk more. Hopefully 5 just has better combat.

loved it, only complaint was it could've done with more unique bosses. They mentioned they had to scrap development early on because they realised they were making a trilogy in one game and it was kind of obvious

unironically might have to buy a ps5 just to play the sequel because I liked it that much

Could've used more enemy variation, got sick of fighting the same shit at times. Some of the armor looks absolutely horrid, but I still had fun and really liked the story. 8/10 the story was great so I'm looking forward the next game, but there's definitely room for improvement in terms of gameplay.

I loved it but really wish there was more. Waiting for my memory to feed a little to start ng+. Couldn't look away from Kratos's nips.

This. Also the old GoWs have better cameras.

It's a pretty bad game. The over the shoulder view is awful. You can't see behind you and every non boss enemy in the game's AI is to circle around behind you. They added the red circles that tell you when you are going to be hit from behind so the whole game consists of you just pushing dodge when you see a red circle. I'm assuming they did this so that most of the action will happen off screen so they could up the environmental detail. Outside of combat the puzzles were all very obvious. I'm talking "wait a minute, that card" obvious. The only thing this game had going for it were the visuals and I don't really care about that. It winds up just being another one of those AAA barely a game deals.

I loved it. I thought the combat was pretty great for the most part and I adored the art direction and visual style of the game.

This game wasn't brutal as the previous ones. Sadly.

Last boss makes me want to cry

Utter shit taste and unaware of anything that is actually good; not just video games. Turn down your hip hop music and reflect upon yourselves.

The map the lack of enemy variety brings it down. But the runic attacks were a fun tactic and all of them felt useful. Atreus was far less shitty than I thought he would be, actually being helpful and saving my life multuple times. Sigrun was the funniest most tense and adrenaline pumping battle I've had in years. Baldr started cool and ended pretty lamely. Overall 8/10

I look forward to freya killing kratos with a golf club in the sequel

I enjoyed it the whole way through but just like almost all Sony games once you've finished it there is no reason to come back.

I really can't tell what this post is trying to say so I'm going to assume you just really want this (you).

It's okay but the whole thing feels pretty uneventful. We don't get to see Kratos actual return or rise, just the home movie vacation in between. I liked the world design when I was playing it, but I don't remember any of it. Ironically this is the one series that needs to be more cinematic, I don't want to fart around doing fetch quests when there's gods trying to kill me or vice versa.
It also feels weird to waste Baldur this early, but I guess he comes third after Thor and Odin for most well known Norse gods, and now we know what the next two games of this trilogy are going to be about. I'm absolutely riveted.
When the fuck is Kratos going to show up on modern battlefields, I've been waiting for that since 2005. Have him fight the Egyptian pantheon with illuminati motifs in the background or something idk

Felt like it was just a build up for a sequel. Feels like every marvel movie for the last decade, only exists to build to the next one with as minimal substance as needed to stand alone

The same bosses for n times, not even near to the gow 3 peak.

The game is good but the RPG mechanics are the definition of half-baked. Also, recycled enemy types (mainly trolls) grew old real fast.

Solid but way overhyped, same way I felt about Last of Us

Beat it when it came out and I really liked it.

Combat was fun, which was surprising because people talked about it as if it was AC/Arkham style when it wasn't. I liked the story, atmosphere, characters and dialogue too. Really good game and I had no idea why Zig Forums shat on it so much at the time.

Thought it was way over rated. Combat was ok... Almost no point to using anything but the axe, which was boring. No fucking bosses unless your doing the extra stuff. Mini bosses were the same enemies over and over.
Thought the old series was much more inventive.

It was okay. I liked it despite the flaws, biggest one was LOL AUTO AIM and lack of enemy types. I would play the sequel, but I'm not buying a PS5. If it comes to PC like that Horizon game, sure I'll get it.

I haven't even finished it yet, I put it down after fighting.magni and modi and then healing atreius, but even I have more criticisms than that.
I don't like the equipment system, the movement is slow, I wish you had access to all the moves at once instead of having to go to a screen and customize what you want to use, no jump, the weird autoconnecting animations to enemies instead of having animations play out naturally with hitboxes, poor enemy variety, every halfway decent story moment has pretty much been ruined by atreius.
it's been about 3 or 4 months since I've dropped it so I could be not remembering everything.

>Sigrun
Anyone know if those 5% reduced Valkyrie damage effects work for Sigrun too?

overwrought and boring
