>Added Denuvo Anti-Cheat software required for playing BATTLEMODE on PC
>Denuvo Anti-Cheat uses a kernel-mode driver >Use of the kernel-mode driver starts when the game launches and stops when the game stops for any reason >Denuvo Anti-Cheat does not take screenshots, scan your file system, or stream shellcode from the internet >Denuvo Anti-Cheat can be uninstalled at any time through the "Add or remove programs" dialog >For more information, please see help.bethesda.net/ or refer to Denuvo's launch day blog here
What the fuck? Did I miss a fucking memo somewhere? Has the shitstorm passed? Why the fuck is there not a bigger outrage over this shit? Is it possible to get a refund to avoid having fucking malware installed on my PC?
>Added Denuvo Anti-Cheat software required for playing BATTLEMODE on PC No one can tell me its about preventing cheaters, who the FUCK gives a damn about DOOM MP?
Exactly. It's fucking Doom MP. This isn't some esports shit where real money is on the line or some fucking bullshit like that. Jesus Christ, get your collective fucking heads out of your fucking ass Bethid. >buy game >game updates >money stolen
Ian Richardson
denuvo makes anticheat shit now? oh well that's nice. maybe it's better than those weird korean anti cheat things
This shit is so sensationalized. How is it invasive, does it influence other programs, does it mess with my hardware? Just because it's "kernel level" doesn't automatically make it bad. It's a bunch of people who don't understand software trying to stir up drama. This whole debacle is idiotic. Anti cheats are completely useless without kernel-level access.

Hello. Haven't touched a single game with decucko. Pirated doom but it couldn't run on my pc. There was some driver problem that couldn't get fixed with updates and some more tweaks. I got bored of trying for an hour and deleted doom. Oh well, such is the pirate life sometimes.
>Just because it's "kernel level" doesn't automatically make it bad
Funny thing how "normal" it is now to have these things after Valorant did it sorta, there were like one or two others before that?, can wait for bloodtests and passport scans before accessing my computer in the future.

>Denuvo Anti-Cheat can be uninstalled at any time through the "Add or remove programs" dialog
Of course. No one else has ever thought of that. You are a genius user. Why not do that and tell us how it goes?
Ayden Scott
It's a massive security hole if a vulnerability is ever discovered for it, which obviously one eventually will be. There's absolutely no reason for an application like this to have such deep access to your OS. For many people, it's also making the game unplayable and/or having a huge performance impact.
It's also a huge shift in the application you purchase and agreed to install on your machine from two months ago, which is absolute bullshit. They can access pretty much everything on your machine and while they say they won't, plenty of big corporations have been found using things like this to gather marketing data without informing the user.
Cameron Bennett
No, it will reinstall itself when you try to run the game.
Joshua Ross
Already did it, and I can play just fine without Denuvo.
Why didn't you think about this before? Thank me for figuring this out.
>200 fps before >now down to low 80s Fucking how? That can't just be their anti cheat shit, right?
Josiah Baker
It literally is
Landon Morgan
i actually did this, because fuck this bullshit
Kevin Garcia
Don't underestimate the power of Denuvo to destroy framerate.
Justin Morales
That or they fucked optimization.
It really sucks since this was one of the most well-optimized games in recent memory. No stuttering, very little pop-in, obviously fantastic visuals, etc. Then they manage to fuck it post-launch to add anti-cheat to the multiplayer mode no one enjoys.
I spent $90 on this shit and just had to uninstall it to make sure this doesn't end up on my machine and I know Steam won't honor refunds because the US has no fucking consumer protection laws.

these "speedruns" are largely using the mouse wheel exploit. didn't work like that in 2016, shit's dumb.
Nathaniel Watson
welcome 2 pc gaming
Parker Perry
No idea, I don't even know how they pulled this shit off in the first place.
Ayden Butler
I loved there was a guy before eternal released optimistic that speedruns were going to harken back to the days of movement based precision like doom 1 and 2, and then he got blown the fuck out like 4 hours after release by mouse wheel jumping to casually out of bounds entire areas and slingshot movement with the shotgun chain
