If you didn't, why didn't either of you buy it? It's literally the Wii U but what it was supposed to be from the start.
Wii U owners. Did you buy a Switch?
Did Nintendo's most loyal consumers buy the most successful console of the current gen?
What's the point of this retarded thread?
>Did you buy a Switch?
Yeah, haven't double dipped on any of the Wii U games though bar BotW. I don't mind the Wii U ports but the fact that they're charging full price for them is scummy
I did, however unlike the Wii U, i did not buy it on day one and waited for a good deal.
No console is worth buying on release and i thank the Wii U for teaching me that.
I don’t want to make the mistake of buying a console before the good games to come out. I’m not playing the same games again.
Everybody talked about how great and underrated the Wii U was, so I bought one. It sucked. Everybody talked about how Super Mario 3D World was amazing. Nobody talks about it anymore. You know why? It's fucking boring. Now I look at the Switch and I see no difference.
What games are you waiting on?
>Everybody talked about how Super Mario 3D World was amazing
It's one of the most consistently diverse platfomers ever and going for 100% in it is a blast
I bought a Wii U based on a few games, and I figured the concept was going to go further than it did.
The Switch I held off on after being burned, but I eventually picked one up. Much better console so far.
I bought it on launch. But i still love the wii u and have it hooked up. Things like the art academy, Wind Waker HD, Twilight princess HD, smash 4 with mods, and emulation. I got Botw on the switch..and oh boy as an actual Zelda fan I was disappointed by how abysmal the "Story" was..and how much the voice acting ruined 80% of characters. The gameplay was very...eh.
>bait a parry
>spam sneak strike
>Repeat cause large health pool
So at the start the switch was really underwhelming, but after mario, dark souls, smash, Links awakening, Animal crossing, and some other small games like that sudo starfox game i forgot the name of. The console is okay now, mostly use it for smash, animal crossing and the youtube player.
I bought both and I have got my moneys worth on both consoles. I usually equate around 1 hour of enjoyable gameplay to $1 spent, so I far exceeded that.
I just ordered a Wii U lel, I mostly want it as an emulation machine though
the switch and wiiu are different beasts, one isn't objectively better than the other
and I've never used handheld mode for either
during the wiiu lifespan I was studying so I had to focus, now I work and have money so I can play.
No one over the age of 10 uses hand held mode.
I'm still assmad they want to double dip me for games like mario kart, dong freeze, and hyrule warriors. at least they had the courtesy to pretend smash 5 is a new game.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm also disappointed by what the game COULD have been. For example, remember the map that was going to utilize the Wii U gamepad? The thing had some cool ideas, but they were stripped out for the multirelease which is unfortunate
>at least they had the courtesy to pretend smash 5 is a new game
Because it is
No.
I had faith in the Wii U. It's actually a really good console. Nintendo were saying it was good until they believed all the people saying it was bad, then they took a huge steaming dump on Wii U owners and just made a new console with enhanced versions of Wii U games, then discontinued everything Wii U ever, even fucking Miiverse.
So fuck them. I'm not buying a Nintendo product again. You may think "psshh yeah right" but I mean it; Smash Ultimate doesn't have anything Smash 4 doesn't have, other than some more Fire Emblem characters. I've been playing PS3 and PS4 more than my Wii U over the past three years with no issues.
I just don't like that I actually bothered to support the console, support the company and what do I get? Just fucking shit on, because other people didn't also buy enough. Fuck that.
>haven’t owned a console since psx, pcfag since
>didn’t even know wiiu was a thing, haven’t been on Zig Forums since 2010
>only found out about it because I bought a switch and started playing vidya again
the format actually looks cool, I think I would have enjoyed it
I bought a 3ds after switch because I found one cheap and liked the switch which was my first handheld, and I like the dual screen format a lot
got smbu and botw on switch, and they’re good games, splatoon 2 is great, xenoblade chronicles 2 was a blast, xc1 and x are probably fucking great too
honestly, I might have bought it now if they weren’t bringing all the games to switch
Yeah I remeber following the development pretty heavily, It would have been fine if Botw didn't blow up with new players.. like Im really glad it was like a best seller and everyone loved it.. but it was just not really a zelda game.. It had a really good core idea and structure to be amazing.. oh well, i just hope that Botw2 fixes these problems.. Because poor dungeons, lack of enemy variation, and no underwater swimming really fucked it.
It's really not bro. If you've played Smash 4 Wii U it'd be obvious.
Sadly it seems like the game was in dev hell.
Yes. The Wii U was annoying me.
the screen on the WiiU was also garbage.
Stop. I was in competitive smash 4. You are wrong.
>it was just not really a zelda game
Do you only play 3d zeldas or something? there’s no such thing as a “zelda game” they’re all fucking different
Oh wow a marketing thread
Well ya.. its pressure sensitive. What do you expect? A shatter able Iphone screen on a childrens consol? Fucking idiot.
luckily for ninty a lot of people like you noticed that they changed 2 character designs, a few sfx, and added the characters people have been begging for for 15 years so dumbasses like you will defend it on the internet
why would I? most of the Switch's games arenports from the Wii U.
I did indeed, at launch. Mainly for BotW. The console just seemed like something that was going to be a hit, so I figured I might as well get in on the ground floor. Haven't bought any "Deluxe" games because I still bust out the U every now and then. I've been tempted for Hyrule Warriors because I never got the DLC and we'll see what's new in SM3DW though because that was one of my favorite games on the system.
That is factually wrong.
buddy, it was still using resistive touch in 2012. when you say "pressure sensitive" you mean that there is exactly 1 level of pressure to be sensed.
>It's literally the Wii U but what it was supposed to be from the start.
>no virtual machine
u wot
No they're not. Most of the Switch's games are ports from iOS and other garbage mobile shit with no physical release.
Metroid prime 4, no more heroes , new Zelda.
I basically only bought the Wii U for Splatoon and a few other things, so when Splatoon 2 was announced I had to get a switch, plus I really wanted to play BotW and thought that buying the Wii U version would end up being redundant
No I have literally played every one but the cd-i and the Japanese only tingle spin off. But my point is they may all be different in concept but it's principles remain intact. If you don't know the dev team for this game Aonuma and Miyamoto were almost nonexistent. They brought in a younger team to design most of it and it shows.. It's way better than spirit tracks don't get me wrong! But i honestly would rather play skyward sword..and skyward is fucking shit, but atleast its closer to a zelda.
BoTW, Smash, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart, W101, and Xenoblade one are all playable pn the the Wii U, retard.
I have both. I actually really liked the WiiU, as shitty as some aspects of it were.
I bought it to play Nintendo games, so I didn't mind the lack of 3rd party support. It had some great games, Miiverse was cool, free online. I don't mind them porting most of the titles to Switch, but I"m not about to buy them again.
I got both. They are two very different consoles due to the fact that the wii u fully renders to the gamepad as well in some games. I will miss that function.
You sound like a child.
>I just don't like that I actually bothered to support the console, support the company and what do I get?
A console that you even said was really good. And I agree, I love my Wii U. But everyone knows it was a commercial flop. Nintendo is a business and they would have been foolish to just stick with it. So they moved on, and you should too.
> Smash Ultimate doesn't have anything Smash 4 doesn't have, other than some more Fire Emblem characters.
Okay yeah, you're an idiot.
I don't care about the specifics, the screen kept costs low and durability high. Buy a fucking ipad, then cause idk what you would do on a wii u that requires that much risk. You touch it like once and mostly use it as a looking glass, fuck outta my face elitist.
I traded mine in with all the games years ago and got a ps4 pro with a handful of games. Nintendo never dropping their prices kind of helped me out there since I didn't have to pay a dollar
ok, and what about Astral chain, Odyssey, Xeno2, Pokemon, LM3, Mario Tennis Aces off the top of my head? Do you know what “most of” means, dummy?
That's a very, very small fraction of the Switch library. Also Smash isn't the same.
As if that means anything? I was also in competitive Smash 4, that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Smash Ultimate is an enhanced port.
I have a quote for you:
"Admiration is the furthest thing from understanding."
Those are mostly garbage anyway.
>as an actual Zelda fan
Man, I'm an idort and have nothing against Sony or the PS4 but that is absolutely not a trade I would have made.
If Ultimate is the same as Sm4sh then every Smash game is the same
