What is there to even like about this game? Is it just looking at the pretty graphics? The battle system has to be the absolute dumbest shit I've ever seen. There's no point in fighting the monsters in the overworld because paint is worthless and it doesn't matter how superficially strong you make Mario because the bosses just revolve around whether or not you show up with the correct thing card rather than how well you strategize. There's also no replay value or room for different builds because of this. Is the only redeeming factor just the graphics and writing? Because that's not what makes up a video game.

It's easily one of the funniest games Nintendo ever released. I can't defend the combat, it's tolerable at best, and letting you waste time in Boss fights you can't win if you don't have the right item is the pits, but pretty much everything else shines. Music, graphics and of course the script.
I don't expect anyone to share my opinion but I for one am very glad I played it; and I love the rest of the series too.
Except Sticker Star.
