I see way too many people on Zig Forums complaining about restarting or grinding. Why are you all not playing Journey Mode? Let's see the benefits:
>game starts you with magic mirror and crappy wings, which improves movement immensely
>it takes a substantial amount of an item to make it infinite
>which means you still need to have a "normal" playthrough, but the grinding is reduced substantially
>for example, it only takes 100x of an ore (which takes hours to obtain) in order to make it infinite, so you still need to "progress" to that ore, but once you get 100 of it you can just skip the grind for the rest entirely
>makes multiplayer with friends much better as you don't have to compete for accessories or other rare items
>imposes some new challenges, such as not using life hearts until you accumulated 10x of them (or mana crystals until 50x stars)
>can control enemy difficulty, if you adjust it to expert/master mode you also get their respective rewards
>can increase enemy spawnrate for optimal item grinding or challenge
All in all it's the best game mode for a returning player. I repeat you will still have to play the entire game normally, but with the addition of less grinding. I tried several playthroughs with friends and they all failed, people just got bored. But then we tried journey mode and it skyrocketed. Give it a try, Zig Forums.

faggot
I already beat the game in expert mode, what is the point of doing it once more? Might as well have fun with no grinding.
Honestly I might just do this to convince my whiny babby friends to jump back in since they can't stand the beginning grind.
>filename
God I fucking wish.
>NOOOOOOOO MUH CORRUPTION IN JUNGLE WORLD GEN IS RUINED!
No you faggots corruption/crimson is supposed to spawn close to the jungle.
Its your job to fight it and keep on top of it.
Terraria isnt a fucking boss rush game you fucking zoomers.
Agreed, but some people want to skip that segment entirely. I am just saying they can do that if they want to through journey mode.
And to be fair that element of the gameplay is very underdeveloped. Feels very unfinished.
faggot, redditigit should have included corrupted mud blocks at least if he was going to make worldgen almost always spawn corruption in the jungle
Stop spamming your fucking shitty game already. Nobody cares, go to your /vg/ general.
God damn this so much.
Im tired of complaining zoomers that did nothing but skip like majority of the game using sequence breaks and share seeds where they dont have to worry about anything at all.
Bit of a noob zoomer move if you ask me.
I started a journey mode world. Made 200 platinum in a few minutes and burned out immediately.
That shit was literally not happening before 1.4, now corruption can fucking spawn on 2 places on the world instead of just one, also try fighting it in hardmode faggot when one random block spawns there and boom your jungle is gone
It could always spawn in two places, but yeah, it didn't spawn inside the jungle this often.
Why wasn't corrupted jungle added in 1.4?
It would've been one of the most sensible things to update yet we got fucking golf instead.
Even a jungle solution for Clentaminator would be fine, or at least making the mushroom one work on normal stuff so you could make a jungle using the green one alongside it
>it only takes 100x of an ore (which takes hours to obtain)
It's taking you hours? Just get some Spelunker and Mining potions, jesus.
But you still do you.
or just make some bars, only 25 bars are needed compared to 100 ores for duplication
why remi.. punching her dig>?
ive had fun playing this mode. I wish it had the functionality to spawn events though. The only thing I've duplicated are potions because fucking farming and grinding materials for autismo min max.
didn't the changelog mention the game has a copy paste functionality now for tiles/houses/whatever you create? I can't seem to find it anywhere
>, it only takes 100x of an ore (which takes hours to obtain)
what the fuck, are you retarded?
The only feature I want from journey is turning off corruption/crimson spread because I am fucking god dam sick of building hellevators to protect my jungle before fighting wof, fuck this retarded mechanic, I am so sick of my comfy house building locations being limited becaused a third of the map is disgusting purple or red shit.
My experience with Terraria in the past has basically been getting dragged along by my friends who massively outpace me because they have hundreds of hours in the game, constantly looking at the wiki to figure out what I should do/make my current goal, and doing some mindless digging/exploring for resources/items so I can catch up to them. Kinda left me a bit unsatisfied. But maybe this kind of mode will make me like the game better.
The latest patch notes literally stated it was a bug.
Take your tryhard cringenigger shit elsewhere.
??Just put sunflowers down retard how is corruption even real??
no it didn't retard
play single player
fucking around doing random shit at your own pace is top gameplay for this game
also your friends are assholes
It only stops the grass. It does nothing to stem the underground spread.
fpbp
>The latest patch notes literally stated it was a bug.
No it did not
Your friends probably are outpacing you because they know exactly what progression path they want to follow and what they want to do.
I suggest you make a world and character for solo play and play at your own pace so you can learn the game a bit better.
Terraria isn't like Minecraft where there's only a few linear tiers of equipment. You CAN go from copper to iron to silver to gold, OR you can go straight from cactus/shadewood to gold/platinum. I personally don't bother crafting tools or armor from ore that's not at least silver/tungsten tier.
Just play the game solo a bit and remember that if an item is listed as a 'material' that means you can show it to the guide to learn what you can craft with it.
journey mode is everything i ever wanted out of terraria. jesus fuck, fuck chest management. if you want to build your base is full of 5000000 chests.
>worry about anything
The entire point of games like terraria is not having to worry about anything.
Those of you who came in late for the boss challenge shit missed the entire point of the game. That stuff was never terraria
>Not beating it in master mode
Faggot confirmed
the point of beating it again is to do challenge runs like fishing only for 100hp only or class based runs or just playing the fuckin game again
also grinding is a non-issue since I have literally never grinded ever
this will probably be added in as a last-second hotfix
guys has your save file got corrupted?
mine just up & vanished after three days,my characters seem to have made it out just fine but my worlds & the install of the game itself seems to have totally reset back to the default when you first install the game through steam?
I had just finished setting up my castle in the snow as well ;_;
did you forget to read the posts by relogic that said to back up your 1.3 characters
>when I've just been using journey mode to build houses easier
post favorite music
put the grass underground ??
:( , i think you were unlucky cause even my pirated copy characters stayed
Just get Magic Storage dude.
i will in 3 months when its finally ready for 1.4
the wiki is stupid, just fuck around
if an item says it's a material, bring it to the guide
also, pro-tip for early game;
Bows are really really good. Better than most other weapons. Your first priority, if you aren't doing a class based playthrough (or are going ranged) should be to make a golden bow and ice torches+normal arrows for Frostburn, then get a flare gun and buy a bunch of flares from the merchant to have double fire debuffs on everything.
For a less renewable weapon early on, you can go to the corruption/crimson and break some orbs for the gun it gives you. Or run to the jungle and block yourself off from any scary mobs, and get the heart crystals and loot.
Also also, since veinminer isn't in this update mining takes up a lot of time, only mine in hardmode (or preferably fish for crates)
I want a more locked down version of journey mode. I like the idea of researching but its way too exploitable. Feels like I'm playing a self imposed challenge at all times from the sheer number of things I need to force myself not to do cause they'd break the game.
magic storage doesnt do what i wanted at all. i always wanted to be able to just generate blocks, not have to care for "having" them. it's pointless and just needlessly locks creativity behind grind
Honestly same, even money is a non issue
>i need to control myself in order to have my preferred experience with a heavily customizable game mode
yes that's the point numbskull
if at any point you seriously consider pressing the god mode button then that's your own problem
Just play normal mode.
If all you care about is building, use TEdit and make maps on there.
>brainlet who can't figure out chest organistaion likes journey mode
what did he mean by this
I'm a Masterchad. It's just who I am. Every single one of my victories has meaning and truth in it. I can't imagine taking a "journey" to nowhere.
how do I access the feature to copy paste buildings and shit
But why do you need to store items if you can infinitely conjure them whenever? Seems like you only need chests for items you haven't researched yet or for items with modifiers.
>But why do you need to store items if you can infinitely conjure them whenever?
?? that was my entire point
Cope zoomlet
Alright will do, I never really got "into" the game like them so hopefully it'll change this time.
i cant imagine acting like terraria is a skill based game when all you do is run back and forth shooting 999999999 ammo at shit
do you play multiplayer games at all? i find it so funny when people use "gitgud" arguments about extremely exploitable single player games
holy crap dude you beat the eye of chtulhu?????
journey is literally just creative mode for shitters.
its a shame they threw in god mode and other cheat options instead of just adding new world creation options.
Why would I beat the game on normal, then go back and beat it on easy?
Mastermode is the only pick if you're actually looking for new content.
