Microsoft founded what they're calling an "AAAA" studio and it's rumored that they're working on a new perfect dark. Of course AAAA is just a marketing term, but expect some nice juicy graffix. We'll probably hear more this July.

skedar mauler gun remains the most statisfying fps weapon ever, charge that shit blast a nig

>Modern devs
>Perfect Dark
NONONONONONO SAY IT AIN’T SO

The Skedar weaponry being reflective of their culture was kino. Skedar invented the Slayer because they like to watch their enemy's faces before they detonate the rocket. The Reaper is a piece of shit gun, but it has fancy spinning blade attachments that the Skedar like.

It's happening

The cancellation of Perfect Dark: Core still hurts. Fun fact. After Microsoft killed that game, its technology was recycled into Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

With people cracking into codes to port N64 games to PC, I hope development towards this game happens soon.

PD decompilation is coming along. A huge amount of work, though.

The fun part is seeing the bugs the decompiler(s) has found in the source.

Oh yea, set in 2020, time for a replay.

The reason the doors aboard the Cetan Megaweapon are so goddamn big is because they were built for Cetans. Quality world-building.

for me it's Shiggy's head on Elvis' body

Just think of all the zoomers that will play this never having played or even heard of the original. After this fall, it will be the first game that comes to most people's mind when they hear Perfect Dark

There is no reason for stealth in the first game. You can just walk in and blast everyone, and it’s way easier than trying to sneak by.

Nothing about this sounds good though?

Didn't they already do a HD port?

That was already a problem with Xbros and PD: Zero. I think that in order to displace the original Perfect Dark, the new game will have to be really, really good. Rare's games have too much of a cult around them. A new Banjo game has zero chance of displacing the original unless it's really good, for instance.

You're thinking of the XBLA remaster. That is an alleged reboot.

Yeah the story just sounds miserable. Elvis being a traitor is just awful.

Microsoft killed what was seen as a cornerstone of gaming in the 90s and 00s and got away with it scot free.

Well, that's fucking based. I'll keep these links in handy.

Ignore the stuff that happened after the project fell apart. Chris Seavor was going to Bad Fur Day Perfect Dark basically. I trust his writing abilities and general ethos. His idea for Perfect Dark was to make it heavily Deus Ex influenced. He basically turned Carrington into Scottish Manderly. Joanna is working for the bad guys. Elvis betrays her. One of her friendly team-mates is actually Mr Blonde biding its time. They wanted a Half-Life-style episodic release schedule.

>playing multiplayer with friends
>let people pick 2 weapons each to spawn on the map for the custom rules
>have to ban n-bomb because everyone just goes fucking blind

Fuck you Elvis body is banned.

In multiplayer I liked to use the Carrington Institute guard with a Maian soldier head.

GET HER

Extremely funny to see that there was a time when pitching investors on Valve's episodic model seemed like a good idea.
Thanks for the dump though; I haven't seen these before.

THIS GUN IS USELESS

Heh, nothing personal kid

My friend was obsessed about being able to do that.
