Here's what I would ideally want from this point on, not that I would expect it. This is also assuming the movies remain successful and we get more sequels, which absolutely isn't a guarantee:
>Sonic 2 movie
Should be a loose adaptation of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I don't really see a point in adapting Sonic 2. Yes and keep mecha sonic in instead going the predictable route and switching him up with metal. Mecha has a cooler design and is generall more based.
>Sonic 3 movie
Have it be a Sonic Adventure adaptation. I want to see some perfect chaos on the big screen, as well as E-102 gamma. That is all.
>Sonic 4 movie
I know this choice is very predictable, but yes, an Adventure 2 adaptation would be great. You could keep most of the story beats in the way they are and it will be kino. Just improve on the presentation and the iffy translation obviously.
After that, I think I would be happy. I'm fine if they go a different route than what I'm thinking, and it might even be preferable, because I wouldn't mind original and fresh takes on Sonic that still keep the core of the series intact.

the biggest issues are the blue arms (which make the design look too unbalanced color-wise) and the disconnected eyes (literally throwing away the most distinctive feature of the series' aesthetic for no good reason). he also just looks too furry in the movie, like some sort of chuck-e-cheese puppet.
sonic already looked fine, hollywood didn't know better than a multi-billion-dollar franchise, and people were too quick to accept a rushed redesign that still got it wrong.
