I made a thread on /vr/ about this game being impossible to beat without a guide and my post was removed after I was called a troll.

How delusional are boomers? This game literally is impossible to beat without a guide.

you're a delusional troll

I think they made games super obtuse back then to pad out their length and to sell Nintendo Power magazines.

Why would you even need a guide for this game?
You just kill things and move forward. If it doesn't work, you try somewhere else.

So you've never played the game?

Literally that's all there is to it. If you hit everything you'll eventually find everything. But you don't need everything to beat it

I bought my NES as a kid with my saved money specifically for this game.

THE MANUAL HAS A MAP WITH INTERROGATION SIGNS ON IT TELLING YOU TO INVESTIGATE THOSE ZONES, AND ITEM DESCRIPTIONS THAT ARE TIPS

THESE DAYS THAT INFO WOULD BE IN THE GAME INSTEAD OF THE MANUAL

>This game literally is impossible to beat without a guide.
just bomb every wall and burn every bush

Yeah okay no you did not play the game. Go download an emulator and try to play the second quest without using any kind of walkthrough.

protip; you will fail.

Fucking grade schoolers were finishing this game back in the 80s, what the fuck is your problem with it, retard?

>Fucking grade schoolers were finishing this game back in the 80s
No they weren't. And if any did, they used a guide/walkthrough.

this is correct
that's funny but if you don't get lucky at some point the pure amount of walking to each screen and doing everything possible is the worst.

In a living neural network

There is a reason RPGs were more obscure back then and literally only for reject nerds that were shoved in lockers in school. It was all about platformers/beat 'em ups

How about you be more specific about what you think is impossible to figure out, so people can either agree or make counterarguments?

The game was very popular. They were all excanging tips and tricks and at least one of them had Nintendo Power.

Here's your guide

Baby needs his quest markers

This is a pretty elaborate white flag.

I beat this game when I was a child before I even had the internet, you're obviously fucking retarded.

>"SO I DISCOVER THIS GAME THANKS TO SWITCH VIRTUAL CONSOLA GUYS XD"
God, zoomers are the fucking cancer who killed videogames.

it's turning yellow

This but also kids back then didn't have as many choices for entertainment. They could spend months and months exploring every nook and cranny of the (by later standards) small overworld in search of secrets. That's why it was the first game with a battery backup for saving progress. They weren't expected to play through this thing in a week or so like modern games.

>RPGs
Zelda isn't an RPG

I wouldn't say impossible to beat but some of the optional secrets are completely retarded to find. Anything relating to finding dungeons was hinted at in some way or another. If you want to name a well known NES game that is impossible to beat without a guide bring up Simon's Quest. The awful translation made certain parts of the game that were supposed to be hinted at impossible and a lot of things that were not explained at all were lost in translation.

Yeah some dude made an entire career about hating Simons quest

AVGN?

game is not mechanically hard but you need every tri-force piece to access the last dungeon. Every piece has its own dungeon but there are several dungeons that are impossible to find without a guide or map. Even the final dungeon is pretty hidden too. You have to bomb certain rock in certain place to find it and there are hardly any hints, if any, in the game.

then how did kids beat it when it first released?
how did guides of that game even started?

No, you're right. Literally no one beat this game until a guide came out for it.

It came with a manual and map. I know it's hard for Zoomers to understand now but back then we actually read manuals.

Zoomers grew up with the GBA and DS which came with manuals and guides stfu boomer. God damn.

>impossible to beat without a guide
>while posting a pic of the boxart that literally says "Includes invaluable maps and strategic playing tips." right on the front
>not trolling
Maybe you're just retarded?

No the Nostalgia Critic

And you still couldn't finish the game? Even with the guides? Wow.

>Implying
The only game I needed a guide for was Kirby: Amazing Mirror.

I beat the game when I was four. You're real fucking pathetic if you can't beat it now.

this unironically

no one read manuals and most people got rid of boxes. I those days most people didn't even beat most games and the few that did was with cheat codes and stuff. That's why shit like Game Genie was so popular.

Even the devs had to wait until the guides were ready before finishing playtesting the game.
That's how impossible it is.

>I beat the game 30 years ago!
Cool. Try beating it now, fags.
