His humor has gotten pretty dry and repetitive but his reviews are still great overall. Remains honest about his opinions even if they’re a bit iffy at times, which is respectable.

Since you posted this, I went to watch his FFVIIR review. Pretty based review. Specially the end. And the guy didn't even really care for the original.

I hate him because he moved to the US and ended Let's Drown Out, the fucking idiot. He and Gabe being morons for an hour or more at a time was golden, better than anything else he could possibly do, and he just threw it in the trash.

He got filtered in a dumb place but he's right about Demons being trash. Outside of World 3 and parts of 4, the level design is a mixture of boring or ass. 2 is so fucking borinbits a crime and 5 is literally Blight town strung out a across multiple levels. Fucking hell, if you thought the run from the base of BT to Fire bitch was annoyed, wait until 5-2.
It's also just as unfinished as the other Souls games with an entire 1/6th of the game cut out due to the sixth arcstone being blatantly cut but not just completely removed from the narrative for some reason. Also the bosses outside of like three are either boring, barely work or just unfun. Old monk is a cool idea but it's also literally unplayable these days without doing annoying shit and good luck finding players for it. PC or PS5 remaster, when?

To be fair, Demon's Souls is a much tougher and less interesting game than the rest of them. In Dark Souls the only real challenge you ever face is the boss battles and they can be quite fun and interesting. In Demon's Souls the challenge of the game is the regular mob enemies, boss battles are a pushover. Demon's Souls relentlessly pulls bullshit tricks that the "tough but fair" crowd shit on other games for doing, e.g. it likes to ambush you, it likes to have you fight multiple enemies at once, it like to do things like put big tough hard hitting enemies that can't stunlocked in a narrow path so you can't get around them so if you don't have the DPS you're kind of fucked, checkpoints are far, far apart, etc., etc. The hardest thing from any souls game ever made is in the swamp in Demon's Souls where they stick three giant depraved ones right next to each other and then take away the player's mobility. Stuff like that is just bullshit and Demon's Souls is full of it.

Did you even read what I posted? I never claimed the game was hard because of bosses. I said it was hard because it likes to do bullshit things with regular mob enemies, who hit a lot harder than the regular enemies in other Souls games do, to kill the player and then make then go through much longer stretches of replaying level than the other Souls games do. The thing that makes Demon's Souls hard is things like the first time through the player has no idea that the game is going to spawn three more enemies behind you in addition to the ones in front of you when you're in the middle of a narrow bridge. That's not "tough but fair", it's bullshit.

As far as 'funny' games reviewers goes I prefer him to Dunkey.

He didn't recognize The Witcher for what it was, then again didn't recognize Witcher 3 for what it was.
