Overal, after playing through all the preceding games, I'm having trouble with Yakuza 3.
The combat just feels like a major step down, the flow seems way less interesting and the story isn't clicking.
I'm legit thinking of just watching the story on Youtube and going to 4 because the gameplay really shat the bad due to all the super armor bosses that make the game zero fun allowed.
Should I or does it all turn around at some point? I legit feel 3 is the worst one yet.
>Overal, after playing through all the preceding games You didn't play the preceding games, like a retard you played games which come way after it in the series. Don't bother with 4 or 5, you won't enjoy those either.
Chase Cooper
Fed up of 0fags coming in and shitting up the fanbase and fumbling their way through the OG games like bumbling retards. Just quit the series altogether you fucking monogloid. You brought this upon yourself. Start with the PS2 editions of 1 and 2, the move onto 3 - 6 > 0 > Kiwamis or don't play the series at all.
Colton Murphy
I skipped it, don't feel like I missed out in anything.
Austin Scott
if you hate 3's combat, skip until 6
Grayson Ward
Imagine getting mad that he played the series chronologically instead of release date
>Wants to play the entire series to enjoy the story using the recommended releases by the developer >DUR HUR PLAY THE SHIT VERSIONS FROM TWO GENS AGO WITHOUT JAPANESE DUBS
You gatekeeping morons are legit tasteless assholes.
Chase Carter
He played the new, hip remakes and then bitches that the old games feel too old.
Michael Rodriguez
Now you're implying the combat in Yakuza 3 isn't poor.
When I played them back in the day, the sudden appearance of super armor bosses that took a million hits to take down was shat on too. Don't act like Yakuza 3 was some beloved masterpiece.
Adam Brooks
>When I played them back in the day suuuuuurrreeeeeeee you did
Andrew Parker
I really hope this isn't bait man. Are you playing on the remastered or OG PS3 version? Just enjoy the game for what it is instead of trying to see it as a sequel in terms of technological and mechanical progression since you already broke the order of release. There's a reason these fags kept saying release order IS the right way to play. Anyway, skipping to 4 won't change shit, the game is largely the same.
Xavier Sanders
Bitch please, I have gotten a Platinum trophy for every Yakuza game + Judgment. Yakuza 3 had fine combat, it's not gonna feel as slick after 0 and Kiwami.
Gabriel Cook
Retard, you are supposed to play 0 after 5 and before 6.
Jonathan Hill
But he never said a single thing thing about what games he came from, he just said Yakuza 3 feels like it has boring combat(this opinion has been pretty common within the community). I guess everyone of those people are now people who came from 0
Lincoln Hill
This. I don't understand the niggers saying it's the starting point of anything when it's supposed to be a direct juxstaposition to 6's quiet, grounded story.
Zachary Garcia
It's not really a mechanical progression thing.
The combat just doesn't feel fun. What's the point of playing if the game isn't fun?
Most of the fanbase feels the combat of 3 is too turtly and boring. I agree. I want to know if 4 is better in that respect.
Jaxson Nelson
yakuza 3 for pc when?
Joseph Howard
Honestly, 3 is the worst in the series. Its a bit of a slog and defiantly feels less polished compared to the rest of the series since it was on a new engine at the time. Its also not as relevant story-wise to the rest of the series and mostly can be skipped outside one thing that happens at the end.
If you are not feeling it, skip to 4. Its a much better experience and was one of my favorites from the PS3 era.
Cameron Robinson
Why are newfags so assmad about being called out on their retardation? In no other series discussed on Zig Forums will you get people pretending as though playing in release order isn't the correct choice. If someone said they started Kingdom Hearts with BBS people and didn't understand the story people would be shitting on them endlessly.
Juan Miller
Of course it doesn't feel fun, you played fucking Kiwami 2 and 0 before it. Anything wouldn't be fun after those two, especially 3 since it's "the weakest" in the series. Like I said, just enjoy it for what it is and take it all in.
Thomas Morris
>Overal, after playing through all the preceding games, I'm having trouble with Yakuza 3 I betcha he played Kiwami 1 and 2 instead of the original PS2 versions. I started from 1 back on the PS2 and I'm not saying anyone should do that, but jumping from a newer game to an older one without understanding that "old will feel older" is fucking dumb.
Camden Rivera
Because in Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories weren't completely overhauled years later to be a better experience using the combat engine of Kingdom Hearts 3. Duh.
What other series do you know where the developers literally overhauled the first two games to make them better in every way while urging you to play those versions instead of the originals.
Furthermore, don't forget the PS2 versions are censored and have no JP dub. They are LITERALLY inferior.
Lucas Edwards
>there are people on Zig Forums who push the English dub Yakuza games
KYS.
Alexander Roberts
It has 4 different playable characters, so yes, it's gonna be more varied.
Angel Baker
1 with the dub is hilarious. 2 is has original JAP voices. You would know this if you'd actually pay attention.
Landon Turner
Thats because 1. user literally never revealed how he got into the series, we all just casually assumed this shit 2. Not every game series requires to be played in release date We dont know what games he started with. You can still play the newer games and have an open mindset about the series and how it goes.
Dominic Torres
I think part of it is how the Yakuza series handled itself. Kiwami is a weird remake that added a bunch of things that are more or less a continuation of stuff from 0 (Combat, several side missions and mini games, etc). The other problem is Sega has done a shit job and has never re-released the PS2 Yakuza games on other platforms in the west outside the PS2.
So now most people are left with the issue of either tracking down a PS2 copy that is becoming harder to find, or emulate it (better option despite the settings being a bitch for Yakuza) for the original. That or to play Kiwami and either let the references from 0 fly by them if they did not play it first or play 0 and be ruined by quality of life changes that the series spent a long time getting to.
Honestly? I prefer release order and having Kiwami 1 and 2 as side titles to play after beating Yakuza 5 and 6.
Jason Torres
Skip all of them
They're just movies. The gameplay is pure shit. Same repetetive combat throughout and barely comprehensive side quests. You're missing out on nothing just YouTubing them
Michael Lewis
Shitty bait is shitty
John Peterson
The mental gymnastics you perform to justify playing the casualized shit Kiwami remakes is cringe. You're not a real Yakuza fan and you never will be.
Bentley Morgan
>user literally never revealed how he got into the series, we all just casually assumed this shit >"after playing through all the preceding games" Unless OP is ESL, "all" typically does not refer to two things. You would say "both" preceding games if you had played 1 and 2.
Nicholas Green
I'd say you keep playing. The story is kinda boring at first but it really gets going in the second half and has a really cool villain. You just wouldn't get the same experience from watching the cutscenes in Youtube, there's something missing from Yakuza stories if you don't fight the final bosses yourself.
Jonathan Flores
you sound like a fag lol
Aiden Williams
>casualized shit Kiwami remakes combat is easier in the ps2 games
Gabriel Powell
>Be a 0baby >everyone thinks 3 is shit >Play 3 for the first through the remastered collection >It's one of my favorite games in the series, liked it more than 4
There's nothing wrong with the combat, just stop mashing bro
Evan Long
Yakuza 3 is the weakest entry in the series, hands down. Skip that shit.
