The main problem is that everyone expects A LOT from this game. And there’s no excuse, From got rid of the previous director and they aren’t releasing a game every year.
If everything ends well we’ll get a masterpiece like Bloodborne
If things go bad we’ll get an OK game, followed by a shitstorm of butthurt and critics darksouls2 style.

From Software is the epitome of "second time's a charm". They always try something new and ambitious, it fails, but then they perfect it in a sequel. Demon Souls tried to be a slow dungeon crawler but it kinda sucks, so Dark Souls perfected it. Bloodborne tried to be a fast paced action game but it's clunky as shit, so Sekiro perfected it.

Elden Ring is going to suck. Elden Ring 2 is going to be fantastic.

Those constant points of interest? Yeah, they weren't the best but it was still good. Everything else in the game lifted it up.

I personally liked Kingdom Come Deliverance a bunch too and it doesn't have that Witcher 3 style of open world.

It's weird they hire GRRM for the lore but Miyazaki for the actual writing.

GRRM's strong suit isn't lore but character and sharp dialogue. The lore in ASOIAF is actually pretty forgettable.

They need to compmetely revemp the way they give out quests, give us all a log or something so players can keep track of who's who and what are the NPC's whereabouts. Quest in DS3 were ridiculously obtuse
