First time I was legitimately disappointed by a Sonic game's soundtrack aside from the obvious lesser entries like Chronicles.
Half the time it's not even the melody that's bad, but the lackluster instrumentation that brings a song down, key examples being the music for classic Sonic and the synth used in pretty much every modern Sonic song. Wasn't big on the awkward lyrics used in the Avatar's stages either. Just middling at best all around, at least when regarding the series' usual music quality. Even Lost World had a handful of tracks I liked despite being a similar step down compared to past entries.
