It did the same shit Marvel vs Capcom Infinite did, focused on the story, created characters and "realistic" graphics instead of the actual crossover aspect. It also doesn't help that Spike somehow keeps dumbing down the gameplay. They should've stuck to the old Tenkaichi formula.

Game is obviously a low-budget cash grab with an ugly artstyle and combat has the depth of a puddle on your bathroom floor
It's fun for a couple of hours just playing versus matches but the rest of the game is boring and unremarkable

Why isn’t Light playable anyway? I know he’d either be too good because he can just instantly kill everyone or, if that’s locked behind being a super, too worthless because physically he’s just some tennis nerd, but they couldn’t just have him as an offline character to fuck around with friends? If they just had to be true to the character then here’s an easy gimmick mode they could have done: One player has to survive as Light for 40 seconds until the other guy dies of a heart attack
