Nah. Fear 1 is a game I can casually boot up and play to this day. It still looks good, it runs amazingly and it is so fucking fun. There is no need for a remake when the original still radiates soul.

This. If they remake Fear, they'll most likely just make it flashy and talky and boriing. The first one was very simple and played great. The second one was already a big misstep.

The fact that you fought against an army of clones that were bred for the purpose of war and were statues when not used as such under the control of a company's psychotic cannibal project. I think they kind of ruined it when they gave the ATC an ever more increasing role. In the first game they're rent-a-cops that get slaughtered and in the second and third they're a highly trained massive mercenary force equipped with jets and shit.
Make it a sequel about a different FEAR unit with a new story with nods to and cameos from the original trilogy.

to be honest I'd just like it to be exactly like the first game in terms of mood, art style, level design, everything except with updated graphics
if anything, I'd want the game to be just a bit longer, although I'm not sure if I'd extend existing areas or add a new section. Also, a better final spooky section. The escape from the underground lab/reactor was cool, but I thought the ghost rushes didn't add much-- they just stopped the escape from being at atmospheric walk. Not sure what would be better, maybe actual enemies of some sort that were more complex but still scary?
Move on from Alma, her story is finished.

Strangely enough, literally only Steam doesn't let you buy F.E.A.R 1 separate from the rest of the piece of shit sequels.

Drop Alma. Maybe keep it spooky and supernatural, but not a full horror game. The horror sections with the ghosts or Alma running at you only took away from the stellar action sequences. Fully focus on combat. Add better enemy AI, more guns, new environments to fight in, new enemies, harder difficulties, as long as they don't interfere with the basic gameplay. Come up with a different, unrelated story to the original games that will serve whatever purpose the devs need, but won't interfere with the action

It's a bit of a pain in the ass to play right now, especially with steam not letting you buy it on its own. I don't think it was ported to the PS4 or Xbone either.
IIRC, there was better AI in the original game, but the devs reduced it because it was shitting on playtesters too hard. They would do things like flank you and coordinate better than they do in the base game. I can't find a source for this, but I remember hearing about it some years ago
Not true. Some of it is scripted, but the enemies you face do have their own AI. Here's a short paper from a dev explaining it
