At least Sony hands out the games as some kind of additional deal. A lot of them are pretty garbage, but I've gotten some cool ones too. Like Bloodborne, and this month they gave out Cities Skylines which I had thought about buying. I also got my PS4 as a gift, so I haven't minded paying for PS+ too much

And it's not changing anytime soon. Why would it? Millions upon millions of paypigs gladly hand over their money for literally nothing. The PS4 and Switch are some of the fastest selling consoles of all time despite abhorrent business practices, even compared to their direct predecessors. Consumers do not care.

As much as I'm not a fan of this there does seem to be a huge dip in player quality when there's no pay wall to be online. I hardly ever experience any sort of dumbassery like griefing or spamming chat with obscenities when playing console games online but if I go to the same thing on PC I can't go 30 minutes without running into an utter moron. It's like people who pay to enjoy something online value their time a lot more or something.

Paywalls are more like stupid filters to me and for that I'm glad they exist.

I play a lot of monster hunter and everyone on PS4 is always really focused and trying to help eachother succeed. Any failures are from inexperience.

Then I try to play on PC and it feels like every third person is carting on purpose or spamming dung pods at the target to waste my time...I never run into this shit on console.

It isn't THAT bad, and consoles are still cheaper than the alternative (PC).
