Mate we've had waifu wars for god knows how long, fan fics are a product of any great game. Theories are usually made when a game has holes in their world building for mystery and people want to fill those up. The mystery aspect isn't bad but it does entice people. I don't remember when I read about it but there's a part in your mind that keeps reminding you of stuff that's left unfinished i.e. that show you stopped watching but enjoyed it.
