Nah, 3 is awful but still in game world, has a connection with the other games, doesn't go against lore, etc.
The bosses were a disappointment but still funny, the ma'am boss was way ahead of its time. And Nick was a good protagonist, plus Chuck appears again and his daughter.

I was so hyped for it and as soon as the nigger trans lesbian black woman started being a relevant character I UGGGHHHd so hard I had to stop playing, watched the rest fast in youtube and yup, most disappointing shit ever.
It didn't even need a 4th game. If they were that desperate for another Dead Rising they could have made Dead Rising 0 with Isabela's brother was protagonist and surviving the city with the very first zombie outbreak.

Dead Rising 3 ends with a "muahaha the lovely love interest of the 1st game was evil all along" which for some might be bad because "nooo noo isabela was bae" but I liked her character development, anyway, she creates a cure, because Nick, the protagonist of that game, is immune. Boom, no more zombies.
Dead Rising 4 disregards that and boom, zombies again. So you had a game with a perfect ending for the entire series and DR4 comes to say "Nop, more fun time, story doesn't matter!".
Add to that Frank is a fucking piece of shit and looks awful. Frank wasn't meant to be a Ken Doll with blue eyes and perfect jaw, he was meant to be an every day guy, kinda chubby even, in DR2 he even looks like shit because of what fame did to him, he's meant to be a flawed character.
In DR4 he's a Devil May Cry character taking selfies with zombies (zombies they know are people, he was never a fucking assholes), making jokes about "fucking your mom" and stuff like that.
An iconic thing for Dead Rising was also being able to use ANYTHING as weapons, even a banana, DR3 sort of removed that but DR4 tied a bow on it and lets you use just 5 weapons.
The game is also full of SJW shit, the most prominent character being a strong lesbian black woman who constantly tells off our cis white male protagonist.
The Mall was extremely disappointing and didn't have anything on it. Peolpe seethe tha DR3 wasn't in a mall, but DR2, specially its DLC, had plenty of no mall zones, DR1 was only mall, DR2 was mall AND outside and DR3 went full on the outside exploring the entire city. DR4 map fails at delivering both the mall and the outside.
And the worst part was how they removed the bosses. they were perfect in every single game. DR4 removes them for no reason at all, we could have had a psycho santa, a pirate on the pirate section of the mall, a snowman or something like that. Instead we got zombies and zombie knights.

He was straight up supposed to be fucking ugly according to Inafune. Also, comically burly rather than chubby. I think I remember reading Inafune saying he wanted him to look like he could play American football, but it's been like 15 fucking years since I read some interview so I could be totally wrong on that part.
