I was just barely a preteen back then and obviously didn't have the kind of financial reporting and shit that's casually available on the internet, but watching it in retrospective, it was weird to see a company just take a fatal wound; like seeing those videos and photos of people doing normal shit the morning of 9/11 or right before an IRA bombing or something.
I seriously couldn't imagine any of the publishers having big scheduled presentations at E3 being dead within the next 5 years these days.
