What is the best kart game of all time

for me diddy kong racing is probably actually the most played and for newer games: sonic all stars transformed

out of the mario karts: mario kart 64 was the peak. wii/wiiu/switch mario kart is all downgrade

criminally underrated/unknown and super aesthetic: looney toons: space race - cell shaded kart racer with hover bikes using a marvin the martian inspired aesthetic - very fun albeit older game

i'd love a MK/CTR crossover and you can pick between the racing styles but the crash's type would be a fucking landslide against mario kart's

I'd want the same, but there'd have to be a blend between the 2 styles because Crash's boost system, while fun is horribly imbalanced for a multiplayer game. Nitro fueled proved that immediately.

Trying to get a friend to even pick up the game is impossible. The learning curve is just way too daunting.

you'd have to speed the mario classes way the fuck up and give them some other boost to compete with a uninhibited CTR style
i've been in some crash lobbies where the tryhard penta ends the race within 30 seconds. having to compete with that, with mario controls, seems nightmarish

Love CTR's controls. Hate the remake's controls. Maybe I just haven't pick the right character, but it just feels off. In CTR, there are tracks like Polar Pass and Sewer Speedway where I can powerslide and boost myself the whole way through, but I now can't in the remake.

Exactly what I mean, and it being this way won't allow a sustainable player base because people will drop it immediately. Imagine casually completing the single player after struggling a bit and thinking you're good enough to go online and before you even halfway complete a lap, first place has already overlapped you.

Kart Rider Drift's Beta was pretty sick.

Yeah I wasn't too big on them either, they helped add variety but I loved the feel of the driving the best. Didn't detract enough for me to not love the game though
