Why do people hate this game again? It is the best hitman game

It’s great but not the best. Blood Money takes that title

Because you've never played the other games.

People hate it?

Why would I? I am not a boomer
Boomers do

>I am not a boomer.
Not only do I not care if you're a boomer, I never said you were one. It's a simple fact that if you think Absolution is the best Hitman game you probably never played the other Hitman games, including the 2016 and 2018 games. There's nothing wrong with not having played other games in the collection but it's stupid to say the game you played is the best in the collection in any other context than "the games I myself have played".

I played the 2016 and 2018 games. They are just not as good as absolution

They are absolutely better than absolution.
Absolution's "instinct" mechanic and the fact anyone wearing the same outfit as yourself can see through your disguise makes the system feel frustrating and pointless, since it defeats the point of needing a disguise to access an area if that area is full of people who can see through it anyway unless you spend your magic power points on tipping your fedora in a jaunty enough way to fool them.

The system used in 2016 and 2018 is less frustrating as you can actually blend in with your disguises, while the inclusion of "enforcers" still means you have to pay attention to how you move through an area in disguise but in a way that makes sense.

Absolution does do some levels that are decent, open-ended ones. But a large number of the levels are much more linear "sneak from start to finish" ones. Nothing necessarily wrong with that design, but it's not how hitman should work.

From your post I'd say that's because you have bad taste.
Absolution has design choices that go against the Hitman formula so it's perfectly normal that most Hitman fans hate it.

No it's not. HITMAN 2 is far better than this pile of trash.
Fuck off revisionist fuck.

What are some other games that were well received on release but are considered a failure now?

boomer
zoomer

Because it abandons the series design philosophy and instead goes for linear cinematic approach with terrible story and the whole game is built around the stupid instinct system
Even Codename 47 is better as a Hitman game and that game is 20 years old

Reminder that the silent majority prefer Absolution. IOI listened to the elderly Blood Money fans and absolutely no one bought 2018. Well done fans, you killed the series by not letting it naturally progress.

I guess you haven't played Silent Assassin where the guards get alerted if you start running or if you get too close to them

>Reminder that the silent majority prefer Absolution.
No.
>IOI listened to the elderly Blood Money fans and absolutely no one bought 2018.
Sure bud.

Hitman 3 is coming along nicely, are you mad?

I thought Absolution was a commercial failure

Hitman 2 is so fucking good

Are you really going to compare a 2002 game with 2012 to try and justify your shitty point?
Then explain to me this: how does it make sense that guards can still see through your disguise, when you are wearing a literal mask on your fucking face?

Blood Money is great but nuHitman is better, they're basically BM+. Absolution ranges from mediocre to shit depending on the level.

they're making a third game and opened up a second studio

>how does it make sense that guards can still see through your disguise, when you are wearing a literal mask on your fucking face?
It doesn't
And ninja guards in Japan levels in second game did the same

Commercially it was the most successful Hitman game. Only the bommer fan base hated it.

Again, are you really going to compare a 2002 game with a 2012 game?

That was a huge flaw of silent assassin, but given that we're talking about games that game out 10 years apart from each other, I'd have hoped that the more recent game would have not mae similar dumb mistakes ans I'd hope the developers would be more esperienced and have learned lessons from the past.

It still underperformed and sold less than expected
They tried to appeal to wider audience but failed

>Only the bommer fan base hated it.
You mean the actual hitman fans?

Not an argument

Why would you blatently lie on the internet? Not only did it not sell well but it was got meh reviews everywhere.

Absolution was better than both Silent Assassin and Hitman.

It's a good game but not a hitman game. What makes actual hitman games great is going to a somewhat closed space and focusing on assassinating one of many targets in different ways.
But most of the time absolution could as well be splinter cell or mass effect, you're just a faggot going from point a to point b and avoiding to get caught in the process
