Maybe it's just the impression I get, but why does no one talk about the areas in the Souls games besides Dark Souls 1? You will always hear about how difficult Blighttown or Sen's Fortress are, or how annoying the rafters and archers in Anor Londo are, and how cool it was to see the city for the first time. But you never hear much about the sequels, even Bloodborne which is highly praised, people will always rave about the bosses, but rarely comment about the areas. Are they less memorable? Or is the formula just getting stale?

Is this shit bait or are you retarded?

Nothing will top pre-patch Anal Rodeo Archers.

ds1 had the most soul

Dark souls 2 has the deepest lore

I'm pretty sure people talk about Iron Keep, Shrine of Amana, Iron Passage, and Frigit Outskirts all the time. You just aren't looking hard enough.

I'd put pre-patch shrine of amana on par with them as far as being complete bullshit goes, because there was no poison arrow cheesing the cunts who blasted you from outside render range

BB has alot of annoying areas like the woods which is just the worst non combat wise

2 changed everything for the worst.

ds2 problem , among it was enemy placement and out of place setting

Sorry, mean for

Sure it's deep but it's just lazy and immature. I respect the effort though, they tried even if a little.

Nobody but people that started with DeS or DaS 1 give a flying fuck about things like level/world design or exploration, and I say that as someone who imported DeS all the way back and absolutely loathes what recent from games have become.

This series now almost entirely revolves around bosses and their difficulty as you can see with DaS 3 and Sekiro, and the vast majority of people love it that way.

>why does no one talk about the areas in the Souls games besides Dark Souls 1?
One factor would be accessibility. Too few people actually played Demons Souls. DS2 is widely known as garbage, thus fewer people play it and those who do probably spend less time with the game. Bloodborne is PS only.

The other factor would be that DS just did it best. The areas make sense, they are connected and fit into the greater picture. Also the game forces you to traverse them muliple times, at least pre lord vessel.
Blighttown is not just the usual poison swamp of every Fromsoft title. It like a ghetto outside of the walls of the city of gods, its where lesser beings created a place to live. The bottom is not just poisonous for no reason, its because its literal shit and rotten bodies down there. The entry to Quelaags lair adds tons of soul too.

But in the end I think no one would remember Blighttown if the game had bonfire ports available from the very start. You'd just run through to reach the bottom and then never explore it again.

I honestly had more trouble accidentally walking off edges in Amana than I did dealing with the sniper wizards
Literally the only part of the game besides the shitheap under Majula where torches actually help

I like Forbidden Woods up until it becomes Snake City

DeS and DS1 had the best level design by far

ds1 has great areas
ds2 has shit areas
ds3 has okay areas
bloodborne has okay areas but is a better game than 2 & 3 so gets more discussion generally
they talk about the others less because they're less popular here and also worse, ds2 especially so because they're so bad it's hard to even make fun of them

Demon's Souls was exclusive (and incidentally the best), DaS2 was shit, and DaS3 was mostly jerking off over the whole series. Bloodborne's problem was that it had DaS's problem of parrying everything to win but without defensive options to justify it. Any other questions?

My question is how is DS1 parry to win

Every humanoid is parry to win, including but certainly not limited to the final boss. Bloodborne allows critical hits against its bosses, but it's not as easy as waiting for the wrist to move and pressing a button.

But with the exception of the black knights all the parryable regular humanoid enemies can be killed in like 2 or 3 swings with almost any regular weapon
Parrying is just a stylish finisher or the 'safe' option if you know you can land it

can see that
first part is the best part about it it has alot of re4 vibes then goes to shit

Are there any videos of it?

Zig Forums is full of trendchasers, youre just talking to the wrong people. Theyre only gonna talk about whatever elicits a reaction like "shrine of amana is such bullshit" they're not going to talk about how its one if the nicest looking areas in the game. Heide's tower is great as well, its bright and sunny, you've got fuckhuge knights with cool armor. My first playthrough I spent a ton of time there getting their whole set. But all you ever hear about is "ORNSTEIN CLONE"

Also worth noting that the final stretch before the rotten despite being full of poison statues looked cool as fuck and had great visuals. I was so disappointed that it was such a short area and a quick run to the boss. I wanted a huge cave segment like that with several bosses in between. Wasted potential

Lol I can tell ds2 was your first souls game

The foggy woods was cool, i wish it had stayed woods and just had the fog eventually clear a bit. Hide some baddies and jumpscares in it. Instead you get that ruin with the lion men thats so short its barely worth having. Then it leads into another disappointing zone, doors of pharros. Which again, is largely empty and short. They really need to commit to longer detailed zones.

You can think that, but I actually started with Demons on the PS3. My friends introduced me around its release. Kept getting cucked by the shrine of storms and the rolling skeletons. I was actually more disappointed to hear that Dark souls wasn't going to have the nexus or hub world like demons when news started coming out about it and was just hoping it would be good.

people coom over the boreal valley and shit all the time

I started with ds2 and its my least favorite

Because DS1 aged terribly and nowadays the only thing people can praise this game for is the areas, wich let's be honest are not that good.
Bloodborne and the Dlc of Ds2(not the base game) has way better areas than all of DS1 combined.
3 it's pretty decent in that regard too.
DeS is good but eh.
In Swkiro the only good memorable areas are the gimmicky ones.
