Why did people hate these remakes again?
Why did people hate these remakes again?
Idk about crash, but only the first Spyro game got treated well. The second game has literal spelling errors in the cutscenes.
Because the remakes lack all the charms of the originals
In the case of Crash, they're mostly unnecessary.
In the case of Spyro, they're mostly unnecessary and shoddy.
Nostalgia fags bury their heads in the sand and then get mad when you tell them that the word is still spinning without them.
I can deal with the artstyle imperfections, but every Crash game in the collection using the same physics and jumping mechanics even though they were originally different from game to game makes it pretty much unplayable for me.
They didn't? They were very well received and Vicarious Visions are now doing the THPS remakes
>Zig Forums
>people
They were both incredibly succesful
Soulless.
the second was still overall OK. the third was a nightmare though, i don't know how that made it out of Activision's HQ.
>hate
only the censorship of the Spyro remake, thank God mods not only fixed it but added even more lewd
>still overall OK
You saw what they did to poor fucking Elora right?
I bought the Crash one and found the controls just sucked and were nothing like how the first game was. I ended up just emulating the original and it was the most fun I've have playing a game in a long time.
It's also very unnecessary and an obvious grab for cash. If they actually cared about these games they would put out new ones instead.
Yeah. Old one was definitely better, but new one still falls under the umbrella of OK.
I didnt hate them, they mostly sold well and had their glaring issues, the biggest of which are in Crash 3 and Spyro 3. You can tell thats when the devs started winging it.
She was never hot.
I'm probably one of the biggest Crash fans alive, and I can say with confidence that so far, Reignited is a far better game, holy shit. There's bugs out the ass in Spyro 3, but overall the game is much closer to playable as well as better looking, and it even has all the original music.
NST just missed the mark by so fucking much man.
I don't understand why they gave her that weird face with crackhead eyes when other fauns looked just fine.
Imprecise platforming in the Crash remakes, which is kind of fucking bad for notoriously difficult platforming games. The remakes in general are also a bit shoddy outside of the first entries in each trilogy, where most of the attention seemed to go.
This user has the right idea.
Otherwise they were quite well received outside of Zig Forums who is mentally incapable of not taking the most autistic stance possible.
you should shut the fuck up, really.
Seethe.
Elora was ostracized from faun society for her appearance.
this, even aside from the soul/souless shit. The hitboxes and jumping in the crash remakes are even more fucky than the originals
Nice crop idiot!
>You can tell thats when the devs started winging it.
I hate that there's no real way to tell if the devs stopped caring or ran out of time.
>Crash
fucked up the lighting and some of the new models/designs look off compared to the more cartoony look of the originals but overall the remakes are okay. I wish they included options for the original music though
>Spyro
ruined the artstyle and fucked up the music, also Spyro 3 needed more development
I sorta feel that the third games in each respective franchises ended up adding too much of gimmicky "alternative" gamestyles to pad the game out, due to the fact that they couldn't be creative and innovative with what they had to create challenging levels.
pill
I had a huge crush on these fauns when I was a kid for some reason. This remake did jot help.
Majority didn't, they put Crash and Spyro back on the map again.
>he says while posting on Zig Forums
Because old = good, new = bad.
Because they're the exact same fucking games except with prettier graphics?
So what's the point exactly?
Japs have the right idea on how to make remakes with RE and FF.
These aren't even remakes, they're exact same copy pastas. Not sure what you'd call them? "Remasters"?
Either way, there's so point to them.
Same goes for Medievil. What a waste of time and effort.
I heard that due to the remakes selling so well theyre making a new spyro game in the style of the original trilogy. So Im not sure what the fuck youre talking about, OP.
That's literally the point you magnificent fucking retard.
The only reason people had issues with either of them, is where they fucked it up by changing things (controls not being consistant etc).
