I recently replayed DS3 and I was shocked at how easy it was. After playing through Sekiro, it's like a babby game.
Midir took me like 3 hours to beat last time and a dozen tries. Same with Friede.
Upon a replay I killed him on my third try. Friede on my second.

Phase 1 : Wait till she jumps. Go near her until she's visible. Hold R2. Repeat.
Phase 2 : Attack big Guy (for you). Once big guy is mid life attack Friede when she tries to heal him.
Phase 3 : Git gud

I summoned an NPC so they could get killed halfway through so i'd have more estus for the third phase
I was bored and just wanted to finish the DLC so i could move on to the one that isn't shit

The solution is to never play dlc on ng+0, shit just falls over because you are more than likely to outlevel and gear it at that point.

Yes. I soloed the whole game with only a bit of difficulty at Nameless King and got fucked by Friede for 2 weeks before giving up on it. I could never even get her first stage down pat.

Probably one of the easier DLC bosses. First two phases are pushovers, it's only the third one that can give you trouble.

I did her at SL55 to get DLC rings for my twink mid level invader.
You just gotta do phase 1 perfectly without taking damage then focus on Ariandel when she's doing dumb ice attacks. Sometimes RNG fucks you over and you'll waste a ton of heals here and die to phase 3.

Having some extra vigor also helps.

Just hit the big guy, avoid Fritos' ice floor shit, and go stab her in the spine when she begins trying to heal. Fritos' is very passive during phase 2, and I discovered this on my third time fighting her.

And there's a lot of bad players out there who struggle even when they've got two players helping them. There's also a bunch of bosses and first time players who aren't gods will likely be exploring and dying to normal enemies. There's no rushing here.

Only if Freide is far away and doing ice shit, she's more passive in phase 2 but sometimes she'll get pissed off and do a combo.
Also she'll heal at around 50% so rush and backstab her when you start seeing the yellow light.

Summoning is the difficulty select, so by using it you're effectively going into easy mode.
