No shit. It sucks. Literally the only hard copy of a game I've ever returned.

I enjoyed it, but some of the extra missions had so much shit in it that it dipped the framerate way more than I could bear.

I bought it on my good faith in platinum based on their previous works.
Lesson learned, will never do that again.

Nah, I remember. Good game. Will probably replay it on hard mode. Not sure if I should do it before finishing the extra missions or after though.

Because Astral Chain was forgettable, it was a subpar Platinum title. But like with anything that's exclusive it gets hyped up and defended because it's exclusive.

Same shit like with mediocre PS4 games like Days Gone, nobody would have given a fuck if it wasn't exclusive.

Truthfully, Automata. It's mostly good because of Taro, though, and the combat simply exisiting is already a step up to Repliant and Drakengard.

This game showed that Platinum REALLY needs to stick with action games. Anytime they try to do something like this game they shit the bed.

The gameplay of Nier Automata is shallow at best for an action game. The only redeeming factor is the story & music and platinum was not involved in making that.

AC is an action game though.
Did people actually say that? I remember everyone saying AC releasing was pointless because DMC5 came out earlier in the year and then when it released people only talked about the police HQ music and femAkira's butt. Everything about the game was mediocre at best.

I think they mean the full release.
I enjoyed it. I hope they do a sequel to expand upon it. Cool setting and characters, great combat concept that could use just a bit of polish. Really just a lot of untapped potential to this one.

Too bad all the boring side-mission shit mostly ruins it.

It was okay... but too much fluff for my pea-brain.I probably would have enjoyed it more if I didn't bother doing the boring side stuff and if it had less rpg shit.

Even without the blue cases, it still wouldn't have made any waves. They were smart enough to separate blue and red cases when you go back to reclear, but I think it shows a difference in design compared to something like W101. People may not like the shmup sections or the dual-screen parts, but they don't kill the pacing of the game since the action is still being carried forward.

Tons of great games are pushed to the side in favour of discussing the latest flavour of the month game, gachashit and the most normiecore games there are like Final Fantasy and Zelda (which are objectively normiecore even if they're good).

I certainly didn't forget it. I want fucking Astral Chain 2.

Days Gone was not mediocre, that game is one of the few to do an open world right and gets extra points for taking place in the greatest state of the US.
