Do people here actually unironically consider this piece of shit the best zelda game or are they just lying for some e-penis points?
Do people here actually unironically consider this piece of shit the best zelda game or are they just lying for some...
It's fucking Zig Forums, what do you think?
It really is a fantastic game, and it's disappointing that people dislike it. I personally think that most people never gave it a proper chance because it's so odd looking and different. It outclasses almost every action game on NES.
It's way more fun than the first one. Best? No, that's windwaker. But it's bretty gud.
Can't wait to see this post piss someone off
is this how you spend your weekend op
you dig up some old as shit nes game and pretend you actually care
sitting there just skimming posts, what a life
it's not the best Zelda game, it is Zelda in theme alone.
that being said, it is a good NES game if a bit obtuse and difficult at times.
It's actually challenging, which automatically puts it ahead of all the 3D ones.
It's pretty good.
There's quite a bit of bullshit though.
>challenging
A fair amount of the difficulty ends up just being the Iron Knuckles, obscure objectives, and instant-death pits.
It's always had its random fans, which is fine. But around 2012, a fuckload of contarians started saying it was the best game in the series. You can tell the actual fans and the contrarians apart pretty easily though. The actual fans are generally more civil and the contrarians call people zoomers and such and say it's the only good Zelda.
>Hands down the best combat on the NES
>Some pretty memorable music
>Straightforward rewarding progression
>Sensible secrets and exploration that's not nearly as obtuse as its predecessor
>Well-paced and with one of the more interesting settings in the series that's expressed in gameplay
How about you tell me what's wrong with it without resorting to e-celeb talking points? Pro tip, saying shit like "Simon's Quest" immediately outs you.
It's my top zelda only seconded by Oracle of ages but this series isnt that strong for me. Its Nintendo's big adventure game and the majority of them are just annoying to go back and play. My first zelda was alttp though. The games are nice but often times the dialogue is a bit too long for my taste and really starts to slog my enjoyment of the later games like OoT, majoras, twilight etc
It has a ton of interesting concepts that were never revisited.
This was my first experience with Zelda. I had this game, Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt and a Kung Fu game.
Zelda 2 was so trash that when I was old enough to learn that people liked the franchise (by that time OOT was new), I thought people had lost their minds or were just fucking with me. The game (Zelda 2) was trash and belongs in the trash. Zelda 1 wasn't that great and I never play Alttp until after I played and enjoyed Wind Waker. I hated alttp too.
To date the only Zelda games I enjoyed were Wind Waker, parts of Twilight Princess, and parts of Skyward Sword. BOTW was fun for all of 3 hours then I got bored and never finished it (and won't do the korok seed thing either). I really tried to get Zelda but I can't do it.
>it's disappointing that people dislike it
why do you have an emotional investment in what others enjoy
I've never seen a single human being ever claim this is their favorite Zelda
i prefered it to zelda 1 and am nuts about the dungeon theme but no
>I hated alttp too.
that's just wild to read.
I'm 30. I played it as a kid so don't call me a fucking zoomer.
I went back and tried it recently and couldn't even get a god damn candle to get through some dark areas. Gave up in like 30 minutes.
>a fuckload of contarians started saying it was the best game in the series
how is that a contrarian viewpoint, maybe it is the best, no other game in the series shares the gameplay except maybe CDI
Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde is more difficult than any zelda game ever made so is it still ahead?
>How about you tell me what's wrong with it
I would just say it is the lives system and respawning at the very beginning of the game at any point except the final palace dungeon
>Wind Waker fags have ass-backwards wrong opinions
Whooaaa I'm so shocked whoaaa
meant for
it's not the best Zelda but it is a great game
I'm 33, didn't play it as a kid. Went back and beat it last year.
I only had to look up two things but it was a fine game imo.
And yeah, you have to go through the first cave without the candle but you can see the enemies feet.
The candle is the treasure in the first palace. You actually need to pass through a couple dark cave screens before you get it.
>And yeah, you have to go through the first cave without the candle but you can see the enemies feet.
Well that's my fucking problem then. Fucking bitch in town said DON'T GO EAST WITHOUT A CANDLE or something, and I went east and it was dark as fuck so I left. Then I went into an area in the desert and it was dark as fuck so I also left.
That's just bad game design of the age I guess. You can go through one pitch black area but not another.
Zig Forums contrarians are pretty obvious, and most of them are like I described. Plus, that opinion suddenly exploded out of the blue one year here. It's really not hard to tell that the most vocal and irascible people are just contrarians.
>t outclasses almost every action game on NES.
This. I really don't understand how people can deny this. The core gameplay is incredibly solid, and this is on top of the game being much more open and 'Zelda like' than most people seem to realize.
It's hardly the 'best' Zelda, but it absolutely is one of the top NES games and there frankly isn't even much competition for it given what it pulls off. Even against later SNES games there just isn't a comparable action RPG that really stands up to it.
Why do you have a problem with emotions, bugman?
Also funny that you didn't call out OP for the same thing.
I was replying to you you dingbat
Because it runs contrary to the common viewpoint. It's that simple. Having a contrary opinion is not bad. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having contrary opinions. However, contrarians are people who make a big deal out of it and seem to think that it inherently makes them special. Contrarians are shit, contrary viewpoints in and of themselves are not.
>couldn't even get a god damn candle
you have to go through one short, easy cave to get to the dungeon that has the candle
>except the final palace dungeon
Ironically, that's the only part of the game where the difficulty is actually bullshit.
