If the dub is good and has direction done by professional voice actors then it's god tier. If not then I just do original dub. If both are shit I do dub for the laughs.

Original language track, always, 100%, all the time, no question. The original language for the game allows the voice director talked with the developers/writers/artists and figure out exactly how they want the character to sound, and it's not some fat broad in California/Texas picking whoever's cheapest out of a hat. Witcher in Polish, Japanese games in Japanese, STALKER/Metro in Russian, etc.

I don't need to understand the language to feel the emotion of whoever's saying the line, and 95% of the time the American VA does a shit job. There's plenty of great English dubs but unless people specifically point out to me that they did a great job I avoid dubs like the plague

Platinum Games always voice their games in English first. You're playing the game in its original language track.

The original writer and director directed the original voice actors. The non original voice actors usually have to guess what emotion is used because no one plays the game and the original writer and director aren't directing the dub actors.

I don't really care until people start claiming the dub is better, which is only true in a few cases.
It's probably mostly a me problem since when I hear english voice acting I can only imagine a person in a booth reading off a script into the mic. I don't know if that speaks more for my dumb ass or for the VA's acting skills but it's what usually happens either way.
