I gave up and cheated in a metal detector when I played in 1.3. I haven't decided if I want to do the same this time.

>found a nymph two hours into a new world playing mp going through the underground ice

do people really build houses that are more than lots of wooden rectangles next to/on top of each other to house NPCs? kinda cringe

Take your lifeform analyzer underground to the caverns. Place down a gnome, biome torch, release a ladybug if you have one, water candle, and drink a battle potion. Then sit and watch the lifeform analyzer, eventually it will pick up a "Lost Girl", which you then have to find.

how do i dodge martian saucer enraged death ray?

>death ray mattering at all
>not the fucking homing rockets
just move decently quickly away from it

haven't even seen the enraged rockets,i keep dying in 2 hits to that fucking laser

Can you get the perfect counter + counterattack timing down, Zig Forums?

There is a pattern
If you run and it moves ahead of you to sweep you with the laser, just dash to the other direction.

Build a Hellevator, or as much of one as you can, then "clear" the left and right of the Hellevator with torches and opened passages. Ride up and down the rope enough times, your lifeform analyzer picks up Lost Girl.

I swear, every pointless design decision since 1.2 has been Red's autism.

does it nullify damage or just reduce it?

Who to trust

NOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T PUT THE TORCH IN THE JUNGLE
IS THAT FOUR NPCS IN THE SAME BUILDING
SAVE ME MOONLORD

Bros did they tweak the Angler quests?
Me and my mate both managed to get the fucking fishfinder within a few (real life) days

From the one golden key I acquired I managed to squirm my way to hellstone and dug through the dungeon to reach the golden chest I saw, which had an aqua scepter. No shadow key, but oh well. Now I can piss on things.

Or download an all items MOD map from steam and get your item no hassle you fat cuck

Why play videogames then you lazy cunt?

Not really, got ingredients for two from like 30 quests.

>travelling merchant has 22% chance to spawn each day
Doubt

>you can't use them as bait
Sunnova bitch

I never play this before
Is it better to solo or play with other first time around?

>got two within 20 quests but the third took over 50
piece of shit angler does it on purpose
at least they changed it so you cant get duplicates anymore

>Tfw been using these things as bait cause of how many of them there are during windy days.
WHY THE FUCK IS THIS MECHANIC MENTIONED NO WHERE

>start hard mode
>using 5 spider minions and a spider sentry at once with the armor now
>just got the cool whip
>going to be getting the mega shark soon as a back up range weapon
I feel so fucking good killing enemies that were now giving me a big fucking issue when I started hard in seconds now

Use fireflies, user, you can get like 200 on special night.

how complicated this little gazebo actually is to build surprised me

Play with others

Went through again on normal mode and basically took the same route I did in the original 1.2 patch (last time I played), only I went ranged instead of melee. Solid 50 hours but all these threads talking about Expert and knowing that I've missed out on so much new content and shit I've never even needed to craft or use has me really interested in taking the plunge so I can experience as much of the game as possible.
Is expert as fun as it sounds?

yes but play master instead
