Is 144hz worth it?
Is 144hz worth it?
240hz unless you're poor
no
Unfortunately I am
Depends on what you're doing, you also need the beefiest GPU on the market currently to get stable 144hz @ 1440p resolution btw, so don't think just because your monitor can support it, you can. I think of my monitors resolution as the potential to have, rather than it always will be.
I have gtx 1070 currently and was aiming for 144hz 1080p. Or should I upgrade my gpu?
That's my setup too and I can run most games on high/ultra no problem.
>he doesn't play every game at 4k 240 hz
Lmao poorfags are so hilarious
yeah. the difference is pretty insane. it'll ruin you though. if you try to go back to 60hz after a few weeks of playing 144hz its like night and day
Not if you're poor and/or like high resolutions.
60hz is not enough for a monitor and shooters. 60hz is enough for console games played sitting back from a big TV on a controller that limits how fast you can realistically move the camera (even at high sensitivity).
I stop noticing more frames around 85-90 based on my experience with CRTs and my 144hz monitor. The conclusion I draw is that the higher refresh rate monitors are worth it even if you aren't hitting FPS that can match them.
What do you guys thinks about AOC 24G2U? Is it worth it? Currently I have samsung LS24F350FHUXEN and beside 144hz will there be any other pros of change?
Depends entirely on what game you're playing. Check your fps now, if it's below 144 on most games you're playing, then yes. From my exp, I'm using a Vega 64 with a 1440/144hz monitor, and I cannot maintain 144 fps on anything really, unless its a CS:GO optimized type game.
got it myself
>144hz
>IPS
>pivot
>freesync + gsync compatible
>sRGB
>dead pixel warranty
>lowend price
it's fantastic
for competive FPS and car-race games, yes i would recommend at least 100fps
240hz is a fucking meme imo.
i can't tell the difference when it goes higher that 100fps.
everything under 70 is console tier garbage.
75hz 2k-res ips or 144hz full-hd ips?
I do the drawing but I also play fast games
>fast games.
then rather go for 144hz
you can still use MSAA or upscaling to make it look like 2K/4K but have guaranteed good fps.
75hz is just too risky.
thanks, J.C.
oh and forgot, do 144hz ips work as fine as 144hz TN? people seem complain about some lag on ips
At what resolution?
I'd rather go up to 1440p if youre still at 1080 than waste time going to 144hz. If you want to upgrade but not fall for the 4k meme 1440p/144hz is probably ideal

Hello Zig Forums
What 1440p and 144hz monitor do you recomend?
Yes.
As I understand, 60hz monitors have screen tearing unless you use vsync which adds mouse smoothing and delay. That for me was the reason I bought a 144hz gsync monitor. Depending on your PC you may not be able to reach 144fps on many games, but it can still be nice for older games, assuming increasing fps doesn't break the game, which can be common with older games. I wouldn't buy 1440p, as you will get less fps, and some newer games are unoptimized as fuck.
The visible difference between 144hz and 240hz is much smaller than 60hz and 144hz. Also there very few games that even a top tier build can reach 240fps constant on.
From what I can understand, while 60hz is doable, its becoming obsolete within the next 2 years. 144hz is the way to go, but anything higher than that isn't worth it.
