Renegade Ops
This looks like it could be really fun in couch co-op
The Saboteur was really fun. Open world games in the 7th gen had so much to live up to, so it seemed like a lot of devs were trying to bring something a little different to the table to stand out.
I miss it.
This looks fun. I miss the shorter open world experiences from this generation
the outfit
Another Pandemic game, tried this on PC the past week and it's actually pretty fun aside from some strange glitches; basically Battlefront in the LOTR universe. Don't see a lot of people talk about it
only had the demo. god those battlefront type games were the shit. shouts out quake wars
The scale was always impressive, and they ran fairly well relative to how many units and shit were on screen. I never played Quake Wars but I have it in my Steam Wishlist, is it worth playing?
how realistic would it be to put THAT many guns on a mobile tank unit like that?
I mean its basically like replacing the upper part of a tank with a flak cannon or someshit right? with extra missles to boot?
The irony is that everyone who missed Chromehounds literally can't go back.
Singleplayer is a fucking tutorial.
This really needs a revival. Who owns it, just SEGA? They've been kinda not-fags lately, maybe there's a chance.
Maybe not quite a turret roughly twice the size of the chassis. At least not with conventional materials.
game-wise iirc that would be one of the slower sniper types. One of the more popular types, very good, but not uncounterable by artillery or fast mechs. It's what made the customization in the game interesting. You could lob off one or more of those guns, maybe change your drivetrain, and get a massive speed boost, but you really needed a specific level of power in your shots so it was a tough call to make.
just looked it up
>From Software
ugh, never fucking mind.
Anyway have the bro-tier JP boxart.
Apache Air Assault is a great game if you love simcades and military action games. It also had great production value and graphics despite being a niche budget game. The default difficulty level is pretty arcadey (regen health, infinite ammo) but the higher difficulty levels was simcade perfection (you have to refit and rearm at landing zones, parts of the helicopter can get destroyed and affect performance).
Quake Wars was amazing because it had all sorts of great gameplay design that rewarded and facilitated teamwork. Haven't tried playing it with bots, but it'd probably be pretty boring.
I'm not even a huge fan of mecha combat games other than gimmeshit like Gundam Breaker or Phantom Crash but this game had me hook line and sinker. Definitely has potential for an enhanced port or future but the possibility of that ever happening is null. Best we can hope for is improved performance in Xenia I guess
Still mad 2020.
It can get a little stale mid game but the aesthetic is pretty cool and if you like the idea of killing nazi's in occupied territory you'll have a lot of fun with it for plenty of hours
seems to be the case with a lot of these 7th gen games that are heavily dependent on multiplayer. At least it does have bots
Yeah the setting is what is interesting me above all else
Fuck the Japanese cover is so much better
that looks like a heavy gunner class, these are the guys that find a firing point halfway across the map and sit there to shell the enemy base with intel from scouts, defenders covering their ass, and commanders telling them where their shots are, while assault-class take to the ground with their support
it's basically a mobile mortar platform
Give NeverDead a try. It came out on the 360 as well.

I want to go back and build a hound for the first time again.
this got panned by critics but I'm watching gameplay and it actually looks fucking fun. The detachable head gimmick seems interesting
>kill servers
>game becomes a paperweight
goddamn shame. I still persist that chromehounds would be a very alive niche to this day had it been released to pc as well.
CHROMEHOUNDS THREAD FUCK YES!
Similar for me.
I think I like the prospect and theme of mecha over most of the games. I can appreciate stuff like old Mechwarrior and Armored Core but they were never really quite my thing, more like the perfect game to watch my big brothers play over anything else. And later I tried the Front Mission strategy RPGs and loved the hell out of them because I already have the SRPG interest. And then Chromehounds really brought out a different kinda tactical side that fit me well, let me scratch an artillery itch that felt really good if done well, and nowadays I search for any game that just has any sort of cool gun that shoots up and then comes back down.
I feel that. It's the sort of game that some committed nerd out there would support a server for.
I still see it as a possibility when 360 emulation becomes trivial. Server infrastructure might have to be built from the ground up but I've seen nerds that committed before.
>I feel that. It's the sort of game that some committed nerd out there would support a server for.
A committed nerd made a complete chomehounds clone, it's called MAV
for sure, it would definitely still be alive if it was on PC. even on console, it already feels like a PC game at heart
The critics made up a lot of shit about the game. I kid you not. Most of them assessed and described the gameplay in the most shallow way possible too. There's a lot stuff you can do that practically none of them mentioned. If you want get a proper review of the game watch this one:
youtube.com
Its lengthy (and there are smaller parts if you want to watch those instead), but it does a lot more thorough job than any of the reviewers did. Just a heads up, its a got a learning curve, but once you pass it its good and it has a somewhat actual skill ceiling.
This game had a lot of aimbot cheaters that would just artillery shell you before you could even spot them.
Look up M.A.V. It's made by some mega chrome hounds fan, and it's basically the same game.
Here's another.
A screenshot of MAV, for those interested.
Wasn't this game some kind of Islam marketing tool?
