I'd say the same. Just as THUG2 was where they started pandering to jackass fans, THAW was where they started pandering to hot topic sk8rbois...But those were both good games regardless. Project 8 was the first Tony Hawk game I didn't enjoy but I also played the jank-as-fuck PS2 version so who knows.

THUG 2 was the start of the decline but I still enjoyed it and THAW. I only ever played the PS2 ports of P8 and PG which seemed at least passable at the time but they were also soulless enough convince me the series had lost what it was that made me love it in the first place and everything since has just reaffirmed that belief. I really hope the remake is good though, I'd love to have a "new" good THPS game to play.

i owned thps2-aw skipping thug1 on n64/gamecube. they were all god tier except i didnt like american wasteland as much (but it was still really fun). i also had downhill jam and dont remember it at all. i never had project 8, but played it once on my friend's xbox 360, and it just felt so off that i never played it again. even at 11 years old i could tell the game was just wrong
