What kind of partner do you hope we get in Origami King or a future Paper Mario? I've always wanted a thwomp partner or a chain chomp.
What kind of partner do you hope we get in Origami King or a future Paper Mario...
how about a mecha chomp
oh wait
We couldn’t even get a regular chain chomp looking back...
I don't give a shit about partners
I just hope the battle system is engaging and not a waste of time
I wanted a pokey girl but I guess that will never happen now.
I will settle with the chaim chomp though.
I hope I get a koopa with a nice green shell. :) I don't think he should talk very much though. He should just say normal koopa things.
Would you people really be upset if OK never existed and Paper Mario never had another entry again?
No, let the series die instead of continue to rape its corpse every 4 years.
I'd prefer the series return to its roots (gameplay wise) than that.
Being realistic to Origami King, i could see Chain Chomp and maybe even the Mariachi Guy since he's been consistent
Constantly pestering people about this issue, good or bad, won't give a proper answer.
Origami King could be a really great game, that's only hated because there is no original characters
I’d rather the series just die than have Nintendo keep dragging its bloated festering corpse out into the sun every couple of years. It literally has been shit for over a decade and the only people who defend it are either people who are fans of the original and are willing to eat up any trash in the hopes that they’ll eventually make one like the original 2 or people who only ever played the shitty ones
Give me them Sniffit or Whiffit laddies brah
And no RPG elements. Why does everyone forget about the RPG elements? You can have a good story and good characters but if combat is meaningless the game is still boring.
They are confirmed to be in the snifit desert town already.
>Would you people really be upset if OK never existed and Paper Mario never had another entry again?
The games are now progressively becoming better and better. Instead of waiting for them to reach a level you're happy with let's just kill the franchise - great logic.
Nobody except baiters and minority defend Sticker Star and Color Splash.
If anything, they are wasted potential, even Arlo admitted that Color Splash had a lot of great set ups ruined by the shitty gameplay.
The set pieces for a really great Paper Mario lies in the presentation and gameplay. Origami King has a lot and potentially give us an actual good battle system since TTYD. But unfortunately people have forced this mentality that anything coming out of SS/CS styles is automatically bad
Hopefully that's not the case, we really need a second trailer to sell people on the battle system
Depends on whether it turns out to be Sticker Star 3 or something decent, and with the info we currently have right now I’m heavily leaning towards it being the former. There’s too many red flags for me to get excited.
As partners?
I really love this game's art style. It looks so clean.
a generic enemy thats bland and devoid of any visual charm
You see user, im saying Origami King's only criticism could be just no original characters because it does indeed look like battle mechanics are going to be set straight.
Color Splash brought back elements but it was still garbage and wasted for the shitty cards.
The exp hammers you gained after battles couldve made a difference except the game throws colors at you every single minute, making it pointless.
Let's pretend Origami runs on a Confetti system, if they ONLY made it available through enemies, then yeah, it'll fucking work
Also the fact that the new ring system has
>"Weapons"
>"Gear"
>"Mario's Turn"
Says RPG to me, but we'll have to wait and see
Remember Kooper?
Of course you don't, because he was devoid of any personality when you were done with Koopa Village.
Personality and interraction is just as, if not, more important than Visual Charms
Would it be better if they did look unique? Absolutely, but not having one doesn't change the characterization, you should probably play Mario and Luigi games and learn how you can have character development with the basic mario characters.
Is this bait? The series became shit immediately after TTYD
I’m honestly hoping this ends up bombing even if it’s good. It’s a DMC reboot scenario where quality of the game doesn’t matter. I want my series or no series
Except we have an Explorer Toad you stupid Dumbass.
I bet you also think Bowser Jr and Kamek is generic too, stupid bitch
"are now" as in "at this moment." Learn to read. Color Splash was an improvement over Sticker Star and this game is clearly an improvement over Color Splash. The trend is looking positive.
>Where the quality of the game doesn't matter
This is objectively wrong, people who actually played Color Splash admit the game's quality was there, everything about it only went to dogshit because of how trash the gameplay elements were implemented.
Someone did not have Kooper as his partner every time they talked to Kolorado.
This game looks so much better visually than every other Switch game I've played. I wonder how they pulled it off.
Maybe it's because i like both Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi, but i literally have no problem with Mario charactes being your partners.
Mario and Luigi taught me that development is just valuable as design. The recent games focused a lot of on the character developments of established characters, making you like them more.
Kamek and Bowser Jr. are pre-established characters, though. They work but it's on the same level as having a party of Peach, Luigi and Bowser in SPM. And if they don't join you in combat there's no point.
>things have gotten so bad that devs are now getting credit for fixing problems they caused and that shouldn't have been there in the first place
A Wiggler or Flutter partner
It's pretty silly. Things are "slightly getting better with each game" when it could be so easy to simply fix everything wrong in one go and have a great game again.
