Which was the best game this gen vros?
Champion of Zig Forums
RDR2 doesn't do as many interesting things as BotW, but it's got 100 times more soul than that Ubisoft clone.
For me, it's kino Cowboys.
None, fuck open world games
Witcher 3 no context. I hate how overrated the game is, like, it's not something that came out of heaven, Geralt is an awful proagonist, the "RPG choices" tend to be extremely out of character for Geralt or just offer you 2 options (Fallout 4 offers you 4 options but nooo nooo, le meme game, le yes, no, sarcastic and question, Witcher 3 "Yes I'll doit" "No I won't" is sooo much better), the combat wasn't anything out of the ordinary, felt like an improved version of L.A. Noire.
But then you have the awesome character design for everything, the NPCs, the main characters, the monsters, the Crones are my favorite thing ever. The graphics are extremely gooda nd I honestly don't understand where did they come from, Witcher 2 wasn't "best game ever" and didn't sell like hot bread, how come a 2016 game looks better than most games from 2016-2020? Dunno how RDR2 looks, I played online a bit, it looks really good but I feel Witcher 3 looked better and had better character models and animations.
For me it's not a contest. 2010s were dominated by Skyrim, until Witcher 3 came out. And i'm extremely disappointed we are in an entire new decade and none of the games look next gen or are what we deserve from an entire new decade. RE3Remake was a disappointment, FFVII wasn't finished, Cyberpunk is going to be a mess and it looks ugly, Vampire 2 looks and plays like crap. I'd say only Valhalla is the only game that could look truly beautiful and be good because it can only be better than Odyssey and Odyssey looked truly beautiful, specially in cutscenes.
>No context
kek
Bloodborne by far.
All of these choices suck.
There's literally nothing interesting in BotW
Uhhhh climb here for a shrine!
Oh look there a Korok Seed!
Oh boy another mountain to climb with a fucking Shrine AND another shitty Korok Seed!
Holy shit this treasure chest hidden deep in the caves in the middle of nowhere has yet another breakable weapon!
HOLY HECK YEAH!
I like ‘em both but I’ll go with BotW for the way I felt when I finished both.
>RDR2
>”Whew! It’s finally over. Certainly a ride...”
>BotW
>No! I can’t have done everything already! I want more crazy shit to do!
>Can't vote for MGR
Shit list.
its got more room to fuck around and do wacky shit but at the end of the day it feels like a glorified tech demo
What kind of faggot votes for cell shaded elf simulator remake?
RDR2 > BB > RE2 > TW3 > BOTW > MGSV
Nier Automata is better than all of them
MGR wan't this gen, user
Which one is the ideal man? Left or right?
And then RDR2 has literally nothing everywhere and no environmental puzzles or hints for any collectible.
Walk around the entire map staring at the ground for 300 hours to find every fossil. Whoo.
Depends on what a lady (or feller) is looking for.
Arthur is rugged as a sheer cliff face, and Link, despite being a twink manlet, is a nigh-indestructible brick wall of a man.
The treasure hunts in RDR2 were infinitely more interesting and fun to figure out than any of the "puzzles" is BotW.
RDR2 was so busy being realistic it forgot to be fun. Between that and the depressing story, I just couldn't stay invested. I quit after getting the ultimate satchel.
>Strawpoll
Every strawpoll gets rigged by some insane autist switching IPs and Zig Forumss opinion is irrelevant anyway
>The "two best games" this gen are two bland, boring, corporate, soulless husks of "Games"
What a horrible generation
Red Dead Redemption 2 has the best writing out of those even if slow at parts. The Witcher 3 is a good game but its open-world and combat suck. BOTW is a glorified Far Cry. MGSV kinda sucks beyond its gameplay. Bloodborne is Reddit. I haven't played Resident Evil 2.
So RDR2.
That list lacks Monster Hunter and probably a bunch of other good games.
How is a depressing story bad?
>masterpiece
RE2
>good
BOTW
RDR2
Witcher 3
>garbage
Bloodborne
MGSV
Fuck Witcher 3 the most overrated game ever made. As much as I adore Bloodborne RDR2 is probably the better game overall just because its so ridiculous on a technical design level. Plus its the most beautiful game I've ever seen.
RDR is technically impressive and should be the standard for video game writing but having played it after BotW really shows how Nintendo revolutionized the open world genre. So just by significance i would say BotW. RDR and Bloodborne are much much much more polished though, so they are better games overall, just not as important
The moment I hated on BOTW was climbing the very first mountain you need to reach a shrine. You push a button to climb faster, and all that happens is that your stamina goes down so low that you cannot reach the peak.
I mean, some people might be cool with watching a guy slowly climb hills then collecting dingles and bells around a map so he can climb faster, but fuck that, to me particularly.
RDR2 would be okay if not for the terrible writing, horrible scripted story missions, and awful controls.
I don't think any of these games are particularly great. I find exploration boring if it's not at least supplement with good movement options that have depth & are fast. None of these games do that.
>0 votes for MGSV and REmake 2
The first I get, they took Kojima off the project and delivered half a game. But RE2 deserves some love.
I like Nintendo games but I never played BotW. Looks like a babies first open world game with lackluster gameplay. It's either Witcher 3 or Red Dead 2 for me.
Did you consider getting up there another way?
It seemed pretty much like a tutorial to climbing, and I think it was totally meant to be climbed.
I did eventually get the 3 initial skills and went down flying, but meh.
