>the last rushed entry to a series that was supposed to have 6 games
>most of the game is just Xenogears disc-2-tier lore dumping
Nah 3 is the worst. 2 is best. The puzzle game is cool, though.

ok

>slow pace gameplay
>the best

Literally autism to wait that long for every random battle. Fuck off.

It is the fastest pace in the Saga games by far

>Literally autism to wait that long for every random battle. Fuck off.
>slow pace gameplay
its a fucking jrpg

do you have adhd user

Nah I don't have autism to wait for every slow pace action. Rather just play the master piece call Xenogear.

>Rather just play the master piece call Xenogear.
>master peace
xenogear was slow placed just filled with tedious random battles every two seconds. Is that what you boomers like

I prefer the Blades, but XS3 is far and away the best of the originals. I still think XG has slightly better story/atmosphere, but XS3 is the only old Xeno game that never became a chore to play. Perfect art direction as too.

You're thinking of XS2. XS3 has some of the fastest battle intros and general speed I've seen in any JRPG.

XG was even slower with all the deathblow animations you have to watch, and the dungeon design was awful.

Why is every thread a troll thread?

Does anyone here actually like video games?

am i the only one that unironically liked 2's battle system the best?

I liked it until I got to Orgulla and realized the only way to beat difficult encounters without turning the game into a grindfest was just stock for 3 turns and unleash a big combo.

It's not that bad when you get the hang of it, but it's still fairly underwhelming beside the simplicity and fun of Xeno3

I enjoy chaining attacks
X2 gameplay is fun but the character design, story and level design suck ass

Because we need to attract people to discuss games and baiting is the best way to do it I guess.

It was a good Idea. however badly executed. How the fuck did the developers expect the player to know the exact combo combination for bosses without looking up a guide

i have a copy of xenogears on ps1 i have yet to finish. i wouldn't mind playing through it to completion but i am worried about xenosaga. i had the opportunity to play this back on release and really did enjoy it but what would be the best way to play through xenosaga I~III?

Xenosaga II has one of the best battle system in any turn based jRPG ever. Only brainlets couldn't take advantage of it. With a few touchs ups to make it quicker for normal battles, this battle system would've been perfection. Xenosaga III is pure unfiltered Kino, from the music, to the story, to everything. But OP is wrong, Xenosaga III is only the second best Xenogame, really close to first, but just after Xenoblade 2

Why is it so expensive to buy it used in Canada?

I bought and played them all on PS2 last year and enjoyed it. Recently went back and started 3 undub on PCSX2 to see how it looked and its fantastic.
I remember trying the undub of 1 on PCSX2 late last year. With hardware rendering the UI was fucked up. With software rendering everything was fine, but you can't upscale the resolution with software rendering so at that point you may as well just play it on an actual console.
Never tried emulating 2.

It's just expensive in general. When I bought the trilogy last year I got 1 and 2 together for $20 but had to pay $90 for 3.

thank you for writing that. i think the delimma i'm in right now is that i did buy a HDD, the ethernet adapter for the phat PS2, and stopped there. i think i was having trouble getting my PS2's HDD reformatted or something. i don't remember. then the dreamkey thing was a little confusing at the time and i haven't reapproached the whole subject. would be nice if it was as easy as burning discs for the dreamcast. i would love to own the copies of the ps2 titles but the newborn takes priority nowadays.

Half the reason Xeno3 works so well is because they cut the bullshit and just get to the point.

You can get an IDE-SATA adapter for the PS2, but I just used an IDE hard drive. In order to put games on it, you can either
>copy them from a legit disc (see: not burnt) using the PS2 itself
Or
>copy them directly from your computer to the HDD using an adapter
I remember buying some chinkshit IDE-USB adapter for copying shit over that eventually failed on me. Never got a new one though because I managed to get most of the good shit saved before I ran into issues, and I remember finding the drivers for it to be a massive headache.
ALSO worth noting that supposedly you can't copy a dual-layer disc (Xenosaga I) to HDLoader directly without issues but that's what I did because my PS2 wouldn't read my copy of XS1 but HDLoader would, and I played up to the Song of Nephilim without running into any issues so I don't know what's up with that.

No idea what dreamkey is, I just used freemcboot on my PS2 and the adapter drivers on my PC and didn't need anything else.

>freemcboot
thats what i was referring to

Just slap that shit on the memory card and you're set.
It's been about a decade since I did it but I just did the disc swap trick with some James Bond game.

>best
Could actually become it if it gets a full Remake

it's the best saga game, that's for sure

I played them on my ps2 years ago and liked it. I should play again on pcsx2 1.6 now.

Can tendies ruin xenosaga?

>6 games
It was supposed to have 6 story arcs, this is the final part of the first story arc, that's probably why it was cancelled, I don't think anyone wants to play hundreds of hours just to complete 1 single story arc, that and diminishing sales.

>xenoseries is more popular than ever
>demand for xenosaga is highest ever
>can tenies ruin xenosaga
No
