it's just a kid's show,. the writers sometimes get bored and do meta humor like this, but it gets old pretty quick

SEGA ordered 52 episodes before Sonic Boom (the game) even came out. The flop was so massive that they didn't give any oversight to the show and just let it be made and air in a death slot because it was a sunk cost.
This lead to the writers not giving a shit and just writing goofy slice-of-life stories. It's not amazing but any given episode should have some chuckles. It's also one of the very few shows that do a body swap episode that keeps the character's voice in their body (as in, Sonic's VA is playing Eggman using his Sonic voice and vice versa instead of just having the wrong voice come out)

It's a real gargoyle fountain located at the Rodin Museum in Pennsylvania. DOOM used a lot of real world gargoyle's as art references, most of them compiled from the same photo book. Considering Thief's setting, it's not surprising that they would also use some real world gargoyle references.
