True, I actually forgot those were rereleases because they've completely supplanted the originals in my mind.

The mod.cpk and the patch ARE the UI fix. If they aren't changing anything try getting the modded rpcs3 exe the mod's creator linked on the discussion page, since I know that fixes problems for a few people.

I wouldn't say there's a single re-release worse than the original, though there's a few I haven't played like Full Body and Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. Of the ones I have played I would take the re-release over the original anytime though, it's interesting you mention SJR because that's the one I feel is the least of an improvement of the ones I've played, and I think it's arguably a lateral movement or even a downgrade from SJ, where in general their other re-releases are pretty much just improvements.

SJR's a weird one because fans of the original tend to feel they dumbed down the difficulty with all the apps far too much, while others appreciate the change.

Again, what does it have to do with better graphics? Like I mentioned, P5R has remade high res textures and new content, so that version is superior at the moment.

Cranking up the res to 10k does jack shit when the PS3 textures are muddy dog shit and the game does not even have a high polygon count so you don't see any aliasing past 4k. P5R remade everything to high res.

I like the changes that come with the apps, and I don't mind the art, I do think it's worse overall, but it's still not bad and I like that the Red Sprite's crew gets portraits instead of just the main characters. My problems with it are that Alex is unavoidable, which I don't mind for the initial encounter, but that even the normal route of the game is changed to have her be the final fight, depending on our alignment, doesn't really sit well with me and I also think the new content and endings fly in the face of a theme I felt SJ had of how weak humans were in comparison to Demons.

I really like how SJ makes you feel like you would be completely hopeless without things like the Demonica and it really feels like the Schwarzwelt and Demons are a threat far beyond what humanity is capable of dealing with, even when you're beating them. I really dislike that SJ's new content has you power up into a superhuman in its neutral ending and gain the power of the fruit you've been collecting, because it just flies in the face of that whole feeling. Beyond that, Jimenez and Zelenin get to retain their humanity in their respective routes, which I also don't like because I felt like the whole point was that the only way they were capable of reaching that strength is by giving up their humanity and who they once were. I also find them reclaiming their humanity pretty unconvincing considering how effective their transformation seems up to that point. I still like a lot of things about the new content in SJR, and I like the gameplay changes pretty much across the board, even if there's some annoying things in it like how you have to walk across a bunch of hazardous spots that you know are there if you want to map a place out, but some of the additions to the story go against some of the things I really liked about SJ, and even though most of those changes are at the end, they still make me look back a bit negatively on it.
