How did this game manage to be so blatantly unfinished yet still so damn good?

It was fun. They also released a free demo which is a ridiculous rarity these days and helped get me hooked
How did Demon's Souls?
The only thing I like about this game is the progression through bbi, but it does keep me coming back. Whatever it is that works, it works dang well.
I think Grigori is the better part of whatever it is.
It had soul.
It's not just the fun combat and customization but the entire implementation of the fantasy aspects that made it into this well rounded journey. There went a lot of care and polish into their ideas and even into small things like lolis being stolen by harpies. You can tell that they simply gave a fuck about their project and wanted it to succeed but ultimatively got backstabbed by the cuts in budget and the short deadline.
>It had soul
The only time this isn't just a meme but applies.
This. They added so many little things like being able to hold enemies and use them as human shields, or how enemies have reduced detection in the dark and you can literally sneak right past guys. Shit that the majority of players will never see or use but that add flavor and life to the game. That’s soul. They just gave a fuck and made a fun game
Cuz I can make a curcylicious woman.
Genuine passion project. Vidya is too much of a business now and you see all these suits mishmashing terrible ideas like trying to nail jelly to a wall.
Good premise, kind heart
I wish Grigori showed up once or twice near the middle of the game to taunt the arisen or something. Having a few more memorable quotes from him would have been great.
Yo, where is Dragons Dogma 2?
Itsuno's games are half finished because he always makes sure the fundamentals and foundations are Incredibly solid.
It's why people played Devil May Cry 4 for a decade despite being a half finished game.

>Deep customization for the player character as well as their companion
>literally the only fantasy rpg with good action combat
Really just having these two things pushed it so far ahead of shit like skyrim for me I could never enjoy a bethesshit game again
Games like these takes years to make. Dragon's Dogma 2 probably just started production a year ago. : (
Damn that's true. I was kind of hoping it would be a 2021 release but now I doubt it.
This
You get to fight the griffin! I was so pumped. I jumped on the the griffion to stab it and the damn thing just took off taking me with it. I plummeted a gorillian feet to my death. That hooked me.
I've picked this game up and put it down 3 times. I really, really hate the combat.
The Griffin quest? sadly if you don't kill it fast it just leaves.
It’s one of the most overrated and meme’d games on Zig Forums. Everything that’s wrong with the game towers over the very few good aspects and Zig Forums‘s obsessed with it because you can make loli pawns.
like what
if you say muh story you're gay btw
Still one of my favorite character creation tool, for it being on PS360 you can do so much and have great results.
Not that guy and while I think the characters, plot, and general pacing of the game's main story sucked I think the world of ruin from FF6 style twist was perhaps all the more effective because of that. I just wish that marked the midpoint of the game rather than the 85% completion point. Still I give it credit, one of the best twists in games from that generation.
Good game play?
>these days
what, you mean 10 years ago? fucking boomer
Thanks, saved.
>these days
IF I COULD SAVE TIME~ IN A BOTTLE~
Its a shame Dark Arisen doesn't have Into Free on the menu. If it did, near perfect game.
This game was on xbox 360 dude.
