At what point do you decide to go for the platinum trophy?
At what point do you decide to go for the platinum trophy?
I used to be all gung-ho and needed to get platinums in every game I played. Then games started having mandatory online multiplayer trophies in their tacked on trash multiplayer systems. So in AC: Brotherhood, I didn't get the platinum because it required hundreds of hours in the multiplayer. But when AC: Revelations came out, they only required you to have a taste of the multiplayer, so I finished it.
Now that you need PS+ to play online, if a game even has a single online only trophy, a platinum is impossible, so I just don't care about the trophies at all. I should actually thank Sony for that... it broke my psychological need to get platinums by making it impossible for me to get them. Now I just don't care unless it's something I can do in a single playthrough without going too far beyond completing the game.
Either happens or it doesn't, Why would you care about such things? showing off to others is the only reason i can think of, and in that case it's kinda pathetic.
When you realize you're probably going to be a virgin for life.
>you will never beat PS3 Shadow of the Colossus Hard Time Attack
Persona 5 Royal is my only platinum, ayy lmao
Turn Trophy Notifications Off and forget about them
I'm glad From hasn't had one trophy locked to online. Despite it can make it a hell of alot easier, it is the natural way to get it, but at least you can do it offline in a tedious way.
Same, it is the only platinum I plan to have too
I've platinum MGSV twice
Never gave a shit about trophies. Only thing I've platinumed is Gravity Rush 1. Was about to platinum GR2 but got sick of collecting those gems.
I know this feel. That shit is broken.
When it's a great game that I don't want to ever end which us rare. I wish my favorite games had more trophies/achievements but I dont try to 100% everything. I'll naturally make an attempt to collect shit in game but a normal mode completion is what you normally get from me which sometimes doesn't get you much.
When it is a game I really enjoy. Sometimes it works out and other times it’s tedious.
The only game I've ever Platinumed is Trine 3, because it's a piece of piss. I couldn't give a fuck, nor do I have the autism to plat any other game. My time is more valuable than spending 20 hours going around a map collecting shit.
I'll always try and go for the platinum, unless it's a super bullshit time sink. If I've got the platinum then the game is completed, I like finishing games.
I did. Not really sure whether it was worth it
>he says while posting on a Mongolian pedophile basketweaving imageboard
kek
As long as there's not BS timesink or multiplayer achievements and I actually enjoy the game I'll go for the plat.
Never
Never. Achievements are for zoomers.
The game is complete even if you didnt do some bullshit task or find one of a thousand randomly placed orbs. So if you beat the game on hard mode but didn't "blow yourself up 5 times", it's not complete?
I don't usually care unless I finish a game and naturally get 95% of them
how did you do the third one?
/Thread
When it's a game like Sekiro or Nioh so I can brag about to my friends online and prove I'm a real gamer and they're fucking casuals that shouldn't breathe the same air as me.
I platinumed Bloodborne.
iirc run towards him so he smashes his sword down, run up the sword and when he lifts it up, jump at the right time so you land on his shoulders, then go for the weakspots.
took a lot of attempts and was frustrating af though. I did look that strategy up on youtube so I guess it's still there if you need pointers.
I know guys 40 now that got hooked on xbox 360 achievements. The spell was broken when they got banned for doin some shady profile hack go play all the xbox live arcade games for free. These guys were crushed. It was for the better.
when i dont have enough money to buy a new game

Can I easily get it in a single playthrough? Then sure, why not. Otherwise I don't give a shit anymore. I've only bought two PS4 games in the last four years though.
If I enjoy the game and the achievements are fun and reasonable
That Rayman Legends achievement where you have to do daily challenges for literal months is not reasonable
