SMB3

Unreal. It really felt like the future.

smb3 because I was a kid at the time and it was the most amazing thing I played at the moment

This. That one part when you come out of a tunnel to a huge open area with one of those boulder dudes chucking from down field.

sonic 2 thanks to blast processing GENESIS DOES

xenogears

GTA3
the 3d open-world, stealing cars and having authorities come after you really blew my mind

SM64

Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom
It combined my favorite show at the time with a good 3d platformer.

Diablo 2 and it's expansion fucking great all around for the time

Pokémon yellow.

Legend of dragoon

Gears of War. The graphics especially the texture details were on a totally other level at the time and felt special to play.

Jet Set Radio Future. The aesthetic was incredible, the gameplay was simple yet insanely fun, the level design was insane in scope and detail, and the soundtrack was fucking top-tier. I will never not love it.

Probably something from Halo CE.
Same game, it took me months to work up the courage to not shut the Xbox off after the cutscene showing the Flood for the first time.

Mafia

FFX, it was a hallmark for me and story writing

AHEM

RuneScape
It was like nothing else at the time
Blizzard babies wish WoW had as much SOUL and dedication put into every aspect of their game.

Sokoban in a monochrome ibm

Fatal Frame 2

When Super Smash Bros Melee came out I literally though graphics couldn't get better than that. I thought in 20 years games would still look like that because there's nothing to improve

based boomer
sokoban is the shit

Flappy Fighter, I came into thinking it wouldn't be cool because it was a mobile fighter. Boy was I wrong.

There's nothing like it current day.
Even OSRS wont live up to that era because the community is so shitty.

Duck Hunt. Played it over at a relatives when I was a tiny kid and thought it was the coolest thing ever. I remember coming home and not shutting up about 'that game where you shoot the ducks on TV'. Eventually got a NES later down the road.

Perfect Dark

For me it was REmake on Gamecube. Shit blew my mind.

Everquest

Most recently RDR2. I haven't had that 'wow' feeling while playing a game since I was a kid. I haven't played many games in recent years, but my roommate bought it for the PS4 when it came out and I was floored by how robust it was all over.
