Remove early copies from the industry. This, along with other benefits like paid trips to game shows, are why Vidya journalists are lying cocksuckers. They very rarely talk shit about a game from a major publisher to avoid getting blacklisted from future events and early copies.

You can´t fix it because the problem is not the lack of analysis but the lack of interest from the audience in real analysis. People want 5 minute anaysis made by charming funny idiots.

They're literally symbiotic with devs/publishers. They need early copies because they need the traffic from people looking for reviews, and devs/publishers need these reviews to convince people to actually buy their games on release. It's baffling that you think they do this shit for early game access and not for a paycheck, this is their job, they do it to eat and pay rent. They need money more than they need "benefits".

No assigning people to review genres they aren't familiar with
No paid trips to game shows
No paid advertising of upcoming games
No re-reviewing newly released games for updates, replay the game twice and then review if that's necessary
Proof that they actually finished the game they are reviewing

If IGN decides to stop sucking corporate cock and actually releases honest reviews shitting on shit games, they'll lose benefits. They won't get early review copies or get invited to private screenings of game footage that can't even be recorded. This is important because as long as all other journalist are still sucking corporate cock those journalists will get early game copies and other benefits. This means IGN will lose a lot of traffic to other journalists and therefore lose money. I didn't know I had to spell it out for you.
