I'm usually fine, but I have a story from a few years ago. I bought Soul Calibur III second hand and spent a few days doing everything in it. I think it was one of those challenges like fighting the colossus or whatever but it really tilted me and I threw the controller AT my PS2 Slim, which was fine, but it had a big crack in the cover. I wasn't really upset, just surprised that I could throw something with enough force to crack it.

My 9 year old sister threw the controller because I kept doing touch of death combos on her in Marvel vs Capcom 3

A friend in high school got so mad at his younger brother for not being able to play a single song on Guitar Hero that he took the guitar controller and smashed him over the head with it. His brother had to go to the hospital.

i was a noob at dark souls 3 and broke my 360 controller. i think people commonly try to squeeze their controller between both of their arms, but the destructive power is increased greatly when you put your controller and hands between your thighs and squeeze in with your leg power as well, in the heat of the moment. anyways i just broke the outer plastic shell and it was easily fixed by bending it back and using electrical tap to keep it in place. it worked fine after that, and after so much time in the electrical tape, the plastic actually returned fully of it's original shape.

here is a pic. you can see where it bent in that white seam on the left side near the center. two of the outer screws popped out and the plastic threads stripped but i was able to put the middle one back in. also yes i know it's dirty, but i haven't used it in years and never use it. the pro controller i do use, i keep fairly clean.

When I was ten, I got so mad one time after losing to my friend at Tekken 3 that I punched a window, broke the glass and cut up my arm real bad. I almost died due to the blood loss.
