The TV function literally doesn’t work outside the US

There is one guide which if you plugged in your cable box to the bone via hdmi it will tell you what is on tv it is literally the guide channel

also no one uses kinect anymore they literally patched it to REMOVE functionality it still technically works but cant do most of the shit it advertised

Don’t know how you’re so uninformed but 95% of all the stuff is gone because of you guys shitposting. They spent the past 5 years pretty much recovering from Don Mattrick’s mess. The Kinect has been completely phased out and turned into something called Azure Kinect which pretty much improves upon it and you can do all the cool Kinect related shit without it being tied to Xbox or gaming.

Xbone Kinect owner here. The kinect doesn't even work with the console anymore and they took the (proprietary I might add) port off of the console in like 2015. What a fucking failure that thing is.

Were they on to something with the whole always online bullshit? More and more games require an online connection most if not all of the time and games as a service are a thing most gamers don't seem to mind

the cloud processing shit sounded interesting they just never explained its applications and how it could improve games also having the always online be MANDATORY instead of an option was where they went wrong

With the right applications Kinect is fucking revolutionary. It's a shit idea for gaming in 2013, but with VR now taking off it would be fucking awesome for motion tracking without controllers.

They hawked a USB converter for free if you had a Kinect for a while.

it sold well on the 360 and they dove into it HARD

one of the main problems with the bone and the last year and a half with the 360 was they started to only care about kinect instead of games

I actually used the shit out of the Snap feature back when it was a thing. I would grind out Destiny while watching YouTube. Sad that they removed it.

it was only a bad idea because microsoft went all-in with it, otherwise the kinect is a pretty cool device.
