For the most part, yeah. The only reason I put 2 on the same level was the I to auction of a lot of new mechanics as well as a great deal of broadening in terms of gameplay variety and story structure. 2 was a vast improvement over 1. 3 was a an improvement from 2, but it improved in a similar manner so I give 2 credit for showing insomniac how to make the game better. For this reason 2 and 3 are equals to me.

I put 2 at the bottom because it brought in a number of structural changes that I outright disliked, from having to restart stages every time you re-enter to superpower gates being tied to enemy kill count to having to sit through a cinematic each time you enter a level. Levels also felt more streamlined and formulaic. I can imagine people who like a bit of character and worldbuilding take to 2 more kindly and I even admit that Autumn Plains is peak hub world, but its basic level design was without question my least favorite on average. I even feel like 3 handled backtracking better despite having more of it since it didn't reset levels and tied revisits mostly to animal buddies instead of new abilities for Spyro, 3 didn't have something like the alchemist situation waiting for you.
