Better you lose part of a setup in the case of failure than the whole thing, even if ultrawide wasn't a meme.

I joined the ultrawide club and it's better, trust me.
Once you configure your box so you can partition the monitor and have it function like two or three monitors but without gaps, it's so much better
I've got it set so if I press win+left the current window resizes to fit the left hand 50% of my screen; same with up, down, and right.
Win+pageup is full screen, win+pagedown is hide the window.

Well sometimes there is a sports match going on so i like to have it as background noise while I game

the only time I watch something when gaming is while playing mmo's, I use OnTopReplica for that and set up the window above the chat bar.

Just a few examples: you can watch youtube and browse Zig Forums at the same time, or play a game and have game info open at the same time, or have discord open on the right while you do whatever on the left

a second monitor would come in handy for programmers who needs to see lines of code simultaneously without changing the tab

I have a vertical one for editing work.

When video editing the vertical one has all my bins, and photo stuff its my layers and tools.

I'm a dumb idiot who can't quickly memorize stuff so whenever I need to tweak a function that I wanna use somewhere else I had to split tabs on vscode

Also monitors are generally cheaper.

Fat chance OP would use it for anything other than videos and videogames.
They have those because they spent more money for no reason. The utility vs just tabbing or resizing your windows is minimal, since you literally will not be focused on the other windows while playing a game.

Double monitor makes sense, but triple is excessive for pretty much everyone.
Ultrawide seems great for cockpits and strategy games, but the comparability isn't the best, and you sacrifice a lot of frames in newer titles.
Personally I just use a 16:9 27" monitor with pivot; it covers everything except my far peripheral.

Do you have like 3 brain cells? Listening and glancing over a soemthing whilst playing something is a pretty simple motion. Reading things whilst waiting during loading screens/ queues.

It's as if your brain just shuts down if more than one thing is presented to you

Not only should you only use one monitor
You should also disable minimaps and the HUD in games; there's no reason you can't click m for map every time you want to see the map
