Cyber Sleuth

So should i start digimon with this one or try to emulate one of the earlier ?

Did we enjoy this game ?

I enjoyed them. They're the only Digimon games I've played.

Digimon games are all trash. Don't bother.

They're amazing try them, my favorite digimon games.

Iiked it. Still not enough improvements but the baseline is good.

It really depends. If you like JRPGs (both in terms of gameplay and story, I.E. you're not someone that would complain about "anime shit" in his video games) then you'll probably enjoy it, if not then you might want to emulate World 1 and see if it "clicks" for you. Other than that the other games vary in both gameplay and quality but there's no real harm in emulating for like 30 minutes and see if any of them interest you.
Except World 4. Don't play World 4.

I don't mind JRPGs in a sense that catching them all can be comfy.
But there is difference between pokemon -> murderhobo goes on quest to enslave the nature with turn based combat and devil summoner -> solve crimes with your demon bros that joined you because you are cool dude.
I am hoping that Cyber Sleuth would be a neat investigation game instead of standard catch em'all.

Also how does combat system compare to Pokemon / SMT

More similar to SMT.

Basically this. They're not perfect games but your tolerance for JRPG mechanics and tropes will define your fun. If that stuff doesn't bother you you'll have a good time. If it does then maybe not. Also remember to player CS first, then HM. HM's story assumed you played CS. It also has quality of life improvements that you would miss if you went from it to CS.

>play japanese game
>noooooooooooooo I hate anime wtf
Do people actually do this?

We enjoyed it, you are now required to repeat it.

>I am hoping that Cyber Sleuth would be a neat investigation game instead of standard catch em'all
These things are not really mutually exclusive, but basically you have "cases" that you take from clients. Some clients are humans, some clients are Digimon, some clients are major story characters needing some help with something important (or not so important).
It can range anywhere from "my arcade machine is fucking up, pls investigate" to "this company is engaging in human trafficking, investigate". And along the way you usually find a Digimon at fault somewhere, be it willingly or unwillingly.

>Also how does combat system compare to Pokemon / SMT
It's okay but flawed. 3v3 (actually 3v up to 5 but the latter is only used like once) battles. Digimon have types and attributes, types matter more. They're like separate rock-paper-scissors systems. For example a Virus Digimon using a Fire attack will deal the most damage (x3) to a Data Plant Digimon, a Vaccine Digimon using an Electric attack will deal only 0.75 damage to a Data Wind Digimon because Electric is strong against Wind but Data is strong against Vaccine, and so on.

Look at any Xenoblade 2 thread.

I can't recommend this game. Maybe the story is alright but I got 30h into it and it was unberarable. So this is how it is. There is basically one dungeon which opens one level at a time. You'll visit the same BORING level over and over again and again and it's fucking dogshit. Sometimes there are other bits bit they are rare as fuck and few. It's basically a VN with forced combat. Having 3 digimon also sucks for some reason. I thought it would be cool but I feel fucking nothing for those niggas unlike in pokemon for expample. Leveling und "leveling up" is a huge ayylmao. Overall the game wasn't fun at all and only if you have 80 of uninterupted autism on your hand I might recommend it. It's a shame really I always wanted a good digimon game but other than those fighting arena ones and digimon world one there aren't any.

80 hours*

XC2 is like a compilation of the worst anime tropes so that's in its own field there
Jin literally teleports behind you and says "nothing personal"

kek that happens so early I literally forgot but xc2 was still an amazing and fun game and once the combat clicks with you you start to actually have fun

Well, there is a difference between Yakuza or Neptunia level of anime in your japanese game.

This seems like it will finally fill the void left in my heart by Devil Summoner

>one dungeon which opens one level at a time.
Eh ... looks like a normal dungeon crawler.
Can be good time filler.

XC2 is great, get fucked normalfag

>Eh ... looks like a normal dungeon crawler.
>Can be good time filler.
it's not oh my god it's everything but that.

>there’s a difference between [ironic weeb game] and [actual weeb game] levels of anime

they're not bad if you're really in the mood for digimon but otherwise lackluster. could always wait out the new one

>Eh ... looks like a normal dungeon crawler.
That's actually the problem, most of the dungeons are extremely simple. Basically the polar opposite of the turboautism of several floor layers, switches and keys that people think of when they think of a dungeon crawler.

>tactics combat
already shit we can only hope the story is good at this point

Writing wise, no it really isn't.
More of a standard friendless basement dweller though

>ummmmmmmmm no and if you like it your a looser lol
Okay, normalfag, tell me more about those jrpgs enjoyed by chads with thousands of friends and 15 fuckbuddies as opposed to those smelly neets who watch anime

>we

>XC2 fans's reading comprehension
I'm saying I'M the standard friendless basement dweller, but with that sort of reaction I guess you are too.
