Why are dungeon crawlers alive and well in japan, but not in the west?

Because inXile is fucking incompetent.

Because in japan they're full of waifus. Literally - the trend is not "dungeon crawlers" but "waifu crawlers" specifically, that happen to be servicable entries as well.
In the west, however, what few are still made are only full of shit.

Because they are cheap to make and idiots will buy everything with sluts on the cover.

this and 2-2 port for switch... just imagine... hnghh

Why? It plays perfectly fine on vita. I don't have to imagine it getting ported to another system when I can just play it right now.

2-2 western release i meant

I honestly don't know. Legend of Grimrock 1&2 was really good and sold well too.

>still no etrian odyssey 6 for switch
wtf is atlus doing

The west fell for the retro pixelshit meme
The only decent one in recent memory is the steampunk one, can't remember the name though

Grimoire is good now, Cleve parched it and the manual is out.

in japan dungeon crawlers are just a shitty way to frame turn based random encounter battles
same shit different package
eternal menu browsing battles

Wizardry got their recognition it deserved in East but never here.
I guess Doom ruined everything here.

Vaporum. I'm not sure what you mean by retro pixel shit though.

Is there a Vita emulator? I want to play Alisias game, and despite being a Etrianfag, I never played any Dungeon Traveler games

I mostly meant all the indie platformers that release by the dozens everyday ate up the scene and nobody bothers developing anything else anymore
They all want to be the next shovel knight,Messenger,Hollow knight,Dead Cells,Celeste.

I don't think so.
Either you buy a second hand Vita for cheap
or you wait for the eventual switch release

There's been a few good ones from the west every once in awhile. Legend of Grimrock is 8 years old now but that game was fantastic.

When will port begging finally be a bannable offense? I'm getting so tired of sharing a board with poor brazilians.

Because WRPG has degenerated to dating sim with combat, which ironically is similar to JRPG nowadays.

lower standards

How do you manage through life without being able to ignore shit you don't like?

Pikmin 2 was the last good dungeon crawler.

There is only one and it can run mostly homebrews. The compatibility for commercial games is at 1% of all titles and Dungeon Travelers isn't part of it.

Aquaplus has never put anything on the switch

Man I need to pick this back up

Does Demon Gaze actually get good or is it just a meme?
I tried and couldn't get into it because some of the art was too fucking ugly, but now I think that maybe I should give it another chance.

when people in the west want to cum they look at fuckin porn they don't bust out some shitty fucking rpg on the 3ds that they don't own where you get to maybe see a hint of areola once you kill the waifu monster.

same thing they're (not) doing with SMT V...

Why are you talking about masturbation, you mentally handicapped faggot? Get your mind out of the gutter, retard.

The west has shit taste in general and the average normie refuses to play anything new.
The dudebro will play his sports shit,GTA and COD
The sonyyger will play his cinematic experience with the occasional fotm weebshit
And the nintendy will play the same handful of bing bing exclusives hes been play since he was 10
NOBODY wants to play anything new, at least not in any meangful numbers.

Easily the worst dungeon crawler i've ever played.

I'm really enjoying Labyrinth of Refrain aka "What if Disgaea was a DRPG?". Class balance feels a little iffy though.

I had fun with this game but eventually it was kinda ass

Labyrinth of Refrain just has the same artstyle, it's very different from Disgaea otherwise.

It seems like such a good genre for an indie game too. All of the art is mostly static drawings which could be done by a single person.

Swords and Sorcery - Underworld was a good example of a simple, but well made western dungeon crawler. It's five years old now though.
