>gaming is dying guize
Gaming is dying guize
>Charges $100 for a game that has half the content it did 15 years ago
It's spiritually dead.
That's exactly why it's dead.
This could be true but I doubt it.
>paying for music
holy shit
>surprised that the game industry makes more then the film & music industry combined
>when publishers come out with the best ways to scam consumers out of their money for as little expense as possible in all impunity
No shit. It's Creativity that's dead.
how much of that are mobile games though?
Most likely including Chinese mobile games as gaming.
half roughly
Capitalism is corrupt
>micro transactions
>dlc
>misleading marketing campaigns.
I have more money than ever and all I buy is indie shit.
half is mobile games, followed by pc, then the consoles and handhelds combined bring in around the same as pc revenue
this
>Games are making MORE than all other media COMBINED...Lets just say, gaming isn't for the NERDS anymore.
Yes. Gaming dying has nothing to do with it being a financially solvent industry. It's to do with it being a soulless asset tour/gacha machine plant. Nobody who works in games understands games, and the people who consume games only do it because it's the pop cultural thing to do. In essence, nobody working on or playing games actually likes games. That's why gaming is dying.
That's because of cellphone games and DLC, retard
Half being mobile gaming means that greed will ensure that console and PC gaming will be dead soon.
>MUH PIRACY KILLING THE INDUSTRY
Yeah it's dying as an art form. Now it's just a product.
much money good
gams important
Nobody goes there anymore because it is too crowded.
I don't understand I thought the games industry was a charity case just scraping enough to get by and that they needed to nickel and dime consumers with dlc ripped from the game and microtransactions, that people who complained were entitled toxic gamers, have I been lied to?
too bad the pc thing here is just fortnite and other esports garbage, actual gayming is dead
Heh
How much is it if you exclude mobile games, which should be included with gambling?
How much is that from whales?
literal clueless zoomer retard
it has been like this since before the zombie defender game was announced
Does "video gaming" include screen based gambling?
>esports
>since 2013
if you say so
They've been saying this since 2007, but the console and PC market only grows. The mobile and PC/console industries and audiences are too different for one to take over the other.
Same as movies really. The popular things are souless dumb schlock like capeshit and jumpscare horror movies. It's not industry's problem that most of you can't look pass AAA.
>offers no source
>/v just eats it up
This is why you all are retarded
people consume them because they're engineered to be as addictive as possible and they're a low-effort way to kill time
>Gaming in the sorriest state its been in in years
>still making the most money because gamers are retarded consoomers who cant help but buy things
The other industries haven't figured out how to make zoomers addicted to gambling yet
AND YET NOBODY WILL BUY MY GEIMU
film and music are absolute garbage these days too though
Bros...
They don't do that to scrape by, they do it to keep investors happy. Stockholders only care about equity. They don't care about quality of the games or performance. E3 was always a show for them and not the people who play games. This is why everything is prerendered. It looks more impressive, they don't care about the actual game, as far as performance goes they only care if it is supposedly the top platform.
All those nickle and diming schemes are there to please suits at shareholder meetings. If someone said your ROI would be easy money you would invest, too.
The second crash is just around the corner, honest guys.
Gambling makes a fuckton of money, more news at 11.
Hollywood hasn't found a way to sell a movie in lootboxes or other predatory schemes.
>Buy this 5.99 lootbox and get five frames from this movie
>Gotta collect them all!
Waa everything sucks.
Go fuck yourself.
I hate pathetic whiners.
There were no mobile games in 2007.
>pay monthly subs to have access to 90% shit you won't watch
I think streaming services are a good start. Only reason no one cares is because it is a huge step up from cable providers and everyone shares accounts.
CONSOOM
Videogames died in 2006, 90%+ of the gaming revenue now comes from mobile/sports/cinematic games, parts of games sold separately and lootboxes.
There are still some good/great titles coming out but quite a lot less than before that year and none that i would define a classic.
they re-released Endgame and justified it by adding like 1 min of deleted scenes
