Persona 5

Is it just me, or does this guy's arc not fit P5 at all. Both he and Sumire are good characters, and it's refreshing to see an antagonist that is not evil because fuck you, but it feels completely out of place in this game.

Emotions should play the major role in the next Persona game. Forcing people to only live in happiness isn't a way to live. You need all emotions to be able to be human.

>I'll unrape your punk bitch ass

What'd he mean by this?

That applies to all the extra content in pretty much every single Atlus re-release ever made.

He fits perfectly fine. The entire game is a commentary on why general apathy and misery is abundant in modern society and over the course of the game it becomes crystal clear society really is the ultimate villain of the story. Everyone is either a tyrant (Kamoshida, Kaneshiro, Madarame and Okumura) or a victim (Futaba and Sae) within it.

Maruki's plot arc is just yet another victim arc similar to Sae and Futaba, but he rises above the commentary to try and solve the over arching problems of the story the simple idealised way.

It fits perfectly well, all the villains of the original release are guys controlling the people beneath them, and the PTs naturally oppose them because they want to be controlled, but Maruki does the same thing but puts a different spin on it by being good-willed rather than being as easy to disagree with as everybody up to that point. He doesn't fit in the sense that I imagine you would be able to tell he was added in Royal even if Royal was your first time with the game, but he suits the narrative and themes of the game perfectly well.

Since when did the phantom thieves make people happy? They just stole people's desires to be total pricks

Is royal worth it for 30 bucks?

>Everyone is either a tyrant (male) or a victim (female) within it.
So progressive! Bravo Atlus!

He's basically Yaldy 2.0.

The new content is great, even if it was absolute scumfucking kikery to call it a new semester when they only added a month it's still the best month of the whole game. Everything they added made the game better.

It took me 100 hours to beat. Gameplay is half traditional jrpg and half visual novel basically. It was a nice game to step back from the valorant, doom, souls shit I was playing.

Except Maruki is also a victim.

I paid full price for it and I was happy with it. So long as you're open to playing P5 again, even if some stuff is changed or added, I'd say it's worth it.

if you REALLY like persona 5 and want more, i guess its worth 30 bucks.

So Azathoth is its own entity that made itself his persona like Nyarlathotep in P2 right? That's how I understood it anyway.

>sea
>a victum

putting people in jail (innocent or otherwise) to win your cases dose not make you a victim.

Maruki is also portrayed as a victim.

... And Maruki?

Plus Ryuji and Yusuke and Mishima and Joker.

Is it worth it if I already played Vanilla and didn't think it was that good?

He feels out of place because the writing of P5 is fucking awful and his arc is genuinely well written.

no

If you thought it was bad because of Akechi then play Royal because they made him the best character in the game. If you thought it was bad because of the Okumura arc, they didn't fix it so don't bother. If you thought it was bad for any other reason you have bad taste and I don't know what to tell you.

the royal team will be the one responsible for P6 to, since most of the original P5 devs are working on Project Re Fantasy.

I thought it was bad because of Akechi but from what I read. I don't think it will change my mind.

Yeah but heads up. The game is easy as fuck because its ridiculously easy to max your persona's stats. Play on hard if you want a challenge, not merciless because that's actually easier.

His new confidant frames him so much better and the new semester makes him this loveable asshole. I absolutely despised him in P5 and I seriously love him now, the difference is night and day. I wish I could quantify it beyond just saying "they made him better" but I really can't, I don't know how they did it.
Also you get to use Loki instead of Robin Hood and that fucker looks slick as shit, one of the best Persona designs in the series, I'd go as far as saying he rivals the best of Kaneko's designs and it's a shame you only saw him for one battle in P5.

For as close as that sounds to the JP acting, there's just something about hearing these characters speak english that always makes me cringe a little.

I know what your saying but Vanilla tainted him too much in my mind, and I can't get over the fact that he's a murderer

Honestly, I find English VA in games to be tolerable, and even pretty good. Actual anime dubs sound fucking terrible though.

What makes him different from Adachi, whom praised as incel prince who murdered two women?

I don't know, Adachi just felt more human and relatable to me. And besides I've been using this opportunity to play some older SMT titles, I've just started Innocent Sin and I think it's going to be my favorite. Michel just rocks!

Maybe it's because I've played P2 between P5 and P5R so I can kind of see him as a Jun type of character but that just doesn't bother me so much now, and Royal really does do a better job of presenting him as someone who was manipulated by adults to do that, while still framing him as a broken fucker who doesn't really feel remorse for it. It's hard to explain without it sounding bad, and it definitely has some really early Persona weirdness to it IMO, but it works really well and it's charming.

>jackpot

>comparing throwing two dumb whores into the tv world to Akechi murdering dozens of innocents in cold blood just to make daddy proud

Does Haru get anything in this one?

>just started innocent sin and thinking it'a going to be your favorite
Okay now I can confidently say you will almost definitely enjoy Royal because Innocent Sin is my favorite too

a murderer still murderer

Still a murderer

>to make daddy proud
He was trying to fuck over his dad, he really truly hates that man

I will never get over how they simply turned his mouth upside down to make him frown

I know that and I yet I don't say he's in the right.

The different is that Akechi's arc starts 15 minutes before his death.

Akechi doesn't in the right too.

Not in Royal ;)

And Royal fleshed him out. Same for Adachi in Golden.
