just bought the game on switch, it's really fucking amazing, I never played a fighting game with such simple controls, it's like the title of the game, a real 1v1 showdown where weapons can clash, where rage becomes opportunity and where positioning is key
no bullshit combos to study for hours on end no anime juggling for 3 hours once you get caught it's all about carefully placed and strategic cuts that can turn a battle from a losing streak to a sudden turn around, I fucking love that you can use ONE super per match and then you are left with basics, punishes whiff like no other and allows for some heart racing moments
by the way the game runs like a dream on switch, crispy plean 60fps with not a single frame drop, I don't know who did the port but they need a raise
I think the hardest one I found so far is forward-back-downleft-down-downforward+light attack+medium attack+strong attack and that is SOOOOO situational I don't think I saw anyone using it because it's a one time attack and can be blocked too

>I am absolutely garbage at fighting games and am having a blast That's slightly reassuring, although when I tried playing V Special back in the day I got fucking blasted by the AI. Eh, I don't mind quirky moves I just hate hate hate having to learn combos. I may still wait for a sale on PS4 but I might check it out. Post more fat bird.
Gavin Thompson
$60 here, and then there's the DLC. I really want to play it :(
Benjamin King
there are no combos what so ever, every hit will push back the opponent unless it's a very specific attack, like genjuro has a move that you can repeat the imput 2 extra times after connecting but you must do all of the motion, it's very rythmic dlc is fucking crazy for this game, 20$ for one season pass then 20$ for the second season pass, I just bought iroha and have zero plans to buy the rest lol way too fucking steep
I was so hyped to play it on PC but the port seems to have taken so long, and after seeing it on Stadia then being slapped on the face with the EGS exclusivity, plus the bad netcode it seems doomed to die.

I have no idea what language you speak bro katana goes clang and I have fun
It helps you converse with other people who also like katana clang clang games
Jaxon Ward
If I struggled in the single player for Last Blade 1 do you think I'd struggle with this? I never got past the guy in the volcano.
Ryan Smith
the switch pro controller really sucks to do these motions though fuck, am I suppoes to use an arcade stick?
Mason Carter
>the switch pro controller really sucks to do these motions though No it doesn't acquire proficiency
Kayden Taylor
No. Arcade stick won't be any easier overall. Both pad and stick make certain things easier but overall there isn't really advantage. You just have to grind some muscle memory for all the motions.
Now hitbox or mixbox. Those things have clear advantages.
Brayden Butler
You don't need to but I imagine it would feel better then a switch controller. Still, if you're just here for random single player shit then don't bother.
SamSho's single player is pretty shit though, beside going through arcade mode once I can't imagine what else one would do in the game.
James Wood
but I accidentally make the character jump when pressing left or right because the d-pad has this weird wide angle thing
The dpad sucks. Get any other 3rd party controller.
Grayson Mitchell
Do not be fooled. The game is only super fundies based at the lowest and highest level of the game. You will meet more apes between the 5 and 15k point ranks than there are in every zoo in the world
I wish Iroha was cute in the game instead of a butterface.
Mason Martin
The modern FGC is now completely controlled by Influencers and hypocritical Shills. It's where good games without clout go to die.
Samuel Young
the thing is, I am already struggling but knowing I don't have to autistically memorize combos makes me have more fun overall, because I know it's just me being a newfag, I beat the arcade mode by letting go of the smash bros preconceptions and focusing on keeping the opponent where I wanted it, even the final boss I somehow predicted her anime lazor of death and it was so satisfying to sue the ERMAGHERDWTFBBQ final combo on her final form
samsho is a good game, real shame about no steam release or GGPO really it's pathetic when phone games have better netcode than a console game.
Levi Sullivan
>SamSho's single player is pretty shit though SFV launched with singleplayer content that makes SamSho sp content look like the glorious Alpha 3's. Yet here we are with SFV lasting 5 years and being held up as the superior game. Singleplayer content, without the Essential Ingredient, is a meme.
The essential ingredient is GRAPHICS.
Isaac Clark
Here's the thing, user: The game DOES have combos, just not in the way you expect them to be. They're also super simple to remember but hard to execute mid-match due to requirements. I'm glad you're having fun though, maybe even moreso once you switch from cooming to Iroha and see just how fun most of the cast is. Also I'm coming to your house to strangle you for that last part of the post
James Price
iroha is the reason I came, gotta be grateful to the crane desu, also no pls don't strangle
SFV had trash netcode for 5 years. Some say it still has. Still one of the most played games in the fgc. Good netcode making a game popular is a meme. You're correct, though.
Nathan Mitchell
You think you're making things easier, but your relentlessness to turn fighters into DND, actually drives people away. Same with people telling noobs they need to learn frame data.
Bentley Rodriguez
Also refer to using 's when explaining your inputs, makes stuff easier to follow and to explain Play Basara
Charles James
sleep fighter is only popular because of the brand name. same reason Magic the Gathering is the most popular card game in the west despite numerous others improving on the core gameplay formulas or outright getting a better one
Jace Martinez
You'd actually have to be a fucking toddler to not be able to grasp and understand numpad notation, it's super simple and can be learned in 5 seconds. Comparing it to learning frame data is retarded
Kayden Cruz
>numpad notation, that makes things simple by replacing arrows with numbers >turn fighters into DND what?
